The Castle Inn was built in 1891 so that right there should let you know that it is not a posh new contemporary hotel. It was very quiet and had stunning views of the neighborhood from the back balcony. Jen (resident manager) was very helpful and sweet. It is a cute, laid-back little inn. It was everything that I expected... more

This place was not at all like the places we've stayed in New Orleans in the past. It felt like we were handed the keys to our own haunted mansion for the weekend. The inn keeper was helpful and fun (great stories!). Our son, the ghost hunter, enjoyed our stay the most. The inn keeper was nice enough to let... more

Recently two friends and I visited the Castle Inn of New Orleans. It is purported to have two resident ghosts in this grand old house, Henry and Emily. The inn is a large three story house with about 20 foot ceilings. It has numerous suits of armor around the place. While we did not see either of the ghosts, we... more

Our stay at the Castle Inn was fun and spookey! My wife didn't sleep a wink because the "other guests", and our host Jenna was kind enough to fill us in on all of the ghostly happenings. She was also an excellent source of information for food and directions. We will definitely stay again! more

If you want ghosts, stay at the Castle Inn! We had so much fun exploring the mansion with other guests as well as the caretakers. Every night something unexplainable happened to someone. In fact, one night, a roomful of guests disappeared in the middle of the night. It seems their encounter was more than they could handle! Check out the... more

We stayed with the Castle Inn on March 5, 2005 and were extremely disappointed with our stay. The doors were locked and no one was home upon our arrival. We called the number and were directed to a side door, where we were told our keys would be on a hall table. They were not. I called the number and... more

We just go back from a weekend in New Orleans, we stayed Saturday night at the castle. When we arrived there was a note left telling us how to get into the inn. When I made our reservations I told them exactly what time we would be arriving. We did not see any staff until we were walking out the... more

I'd like to be able to recommend as the manager was very nice and helpful, however the lack of amenities weighs out. The lack of a phone in the room was not just an inconvenience but also gave me the creeps traveling alone, especially since the room had a separate entrance that required going outside. Common areas seemed cluttered. I... more

I love this place more every time I go to New Orleans, and I've been visiting for twenty years. Honestly, I'm someone who really prefers to not stay in commercial chain hotels and inns, and I've explored and stayed in many old and unique places around the world - from the Driskill Hotel in Austin to the Prairie Inn in... more
