I stayed at the Sun and Moon in March, 2003 after Mardi Gras. Very clean and nice. I stayed in the room facing Rampart St. across from WWL TV station. Hostess was very nice and offered tips on safety. She let me check in early (1 PM) since the room was ready. Nice King bed. Street noise was not a problem due to the thick walls. Great coffee for the pot in the room (chicory, I think). Pastries were great also. Location is only 3 blocks from Bourbon. At night, she advised us to not walk on the side of the street common to Louis Armstrong Park because there are columns that can hide a potential mugger. Also, at night, she advised to walk to the quarter via Rampart to St. Ann. I never felt unsafe though. I had a good stay. Rates are very reasonable for the quality of the room and location. Do not venture toward I-10 away from the quarter as this is the Treme neighborhood and has public housing projects. I would stay here again. more
