It is easy to miss this place as you drive into Cortez but it was a very clean and friendly place. The front desk couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms were clean and fairly modern in a place that is from yesteryear. Don't be turned off by its older appearance. Convenient to Mesa Verde. Check out the welcome center... More

I'm giving this a 4 star rating on the basis of the Tomahawk being an honest, old fashioned motel with no frills and good value for money. I like the fact that it's not pretending to be anything other than it is. The rooms seem to have been redecorated and furnished fairly recently. They are basic; you get what you... More

Walls are paper thin. The neighbor's bath sounded like you're standing under Niagara Falls. If that's not enough, highway truck traffic roars through all night. Room was basic and clean.I guess you get what you pay for, but I wonder if there are better alternatives for the price in Cortez.

This is a basic motel out of the 50's with a refrigerator and Wi-Fi. It lacks a coffee maker (so what) and a hair dryer. The folks running it are friendly and accommodating and it is clean and a great value located on the outskirts of Cortez.

We stayed three nights at the Tomahawk and were very pleased. Basic accommodations, including a small refrigerator. The room could use a bit of updating but was spotless clean and comfortable. This place is a real throw back to family-style motels of yesterday, including the cool sign out front. The owner was as friendly as she could be and went... More

Classic motel with clean basic rooms. Only needs a coffee pot but coffee avail in lobby. Would stay again here in a flash. Management exudes old world charm and attention to their customers. The owners even have a Great Dane.

We stayed here based on the recommendation of a local we met. Room was basic, but clean and comfortable. No fridge or micro, but the lady at the front desk offered to heat up our frozen dinners - no problem. Nothing particularly memorable either positive or negative. Did love the handcarved indian front door for the office. We would be... More

Had to have some short notice lodging for a house hunting trip for our upcoming move to Cortez. This was Labor Day weekend, ( the weekend of two large motorcycle rallys in the area) and I was worried about the possibility of a noisey stay. We were very happy with our rooms and even though it is located right on... More

As seems the pattern with many other reviews, my wife and I were struck with how friendly and helpful the owner was during a brief staff at this motel. The place was clean and comfortable and priced very fairly we thought. We chose to stay in Cortez at bad weather prevented us from camping at the nearby Hovenweep Monument. I... More
