We visited Vishal, his lovely wife, family and community as part of a group tour. The homestay was beautifully located, safe, clean and comfortable. The cooking and attention to detail was outstanding. Vishal was very knowledgeable and took us on an interesting tour pointing out the local sights and explaining village life. A great way to get an insight into... More

We came as a group in March 2012 and were accommodated in different houses across the village. Naturally, the rooms themselves vary in terms of facilities and standard - as this is a homestay rather than a hotel! So if you are looking for high-end luxury, full amenities and a fence around your hotel to keep you save from the... More

My experience at Vishal and his family's home was the highlight of my trip to Kerala! They welcomed my friends and I with generous hospitality and seemed sincerely interested in getting to know us and teaching us about their village, of which they are very proud. Please come and stay at this beautiful homestay and experience Kerala at its best!

I don't think we ever saw Ayana's, based on the other reviews here. Vishal set us up in a very minimal room with a stagnant pond in front. My guess is they were overbooked, but he didn't admit to that. Honesty is always the best policy. We left without staying overnight.

We were scheduled to stay at Ayana's in February 2012, and had confirming emails from Vinit Nair to that effect. On the morning of our drive to Allapuzha we tried to contact Ayana's and were surprised that despite several attempts on all the 'phone numbers we could find for them, there was no response. With some difficulty and with no... More

Just like home, except you won't get the noisy neighbours, annoying parents, noisy cars, loud music. In fact its just the opposite of the above. PEACEFUL, QUITE, and PRIVATE. Well worth the journey from the Fort Kochi area and dare I say better than the Fort homestays.

I felt welcome from the first minute and was treated like a member of the Nair family. Food prepared by Padma Nair was gorgeoes and through discussions with Gopal Nair I learned a lot about the area and its culture. Vishal Nair (son) is a very good guide who showed me some interessting places in the backwaters. The other son,... More

We had a great time at Ayana's. I felt like a queen, waited on hand and foot. The rooms / bathroom were clean and the beds comfy. The food was plentiful and scrumptious. Padma and Gopal were great hosts. I really enjoyed our wander around the Island and we did some early morning yoga which was fun. Overall a worthwhile experience... More
