Knai Bang Chatt can be everything the rave reviewers say on this page, but after my last 2 visits I fear standards are slipping, and the hotel needs some careful attention to maintain the reputation is has built up. The location is unbeatable. But on both of my last visits the pool was noticeably dirty. Staff remedied this by chucking... More

At these prices I would have expected a much more professional approach. I came across the Owner bar hopping in Phnom Penh, far enough away to have surely considered a visible management team, to give this resort its full potential Friendly staff, wonderful seaside setting and a great pool, and I am sure you can read elsewhere about this very... Beautiful location, interesting architecture and a lack of competition makes this hotel a #1 choice amongst travellers in Kep. However there are many shortcomings. The towels and bedding are stained - they appear beige rather than white. The sofa in my room also had questionable stains making it rather unappealing to sit on. The rooms seem dated and lack basic... More

This is a wonderful location right by the water, the architecture is interesting and the layout of the pool and grounds is spacious and beautiful. But this hotel is overpriced for what it offers. Rooms are pleasant enough but lack the wow factor that the advertising leads you to expect. They are also lacking in several amenities that would be... More

This has been our 3rd stay in KBC, and we have enjoyed it so much in the past that we decided to stay for 8 nights. The atmosphere is second to none, and we have once again tremendously enjoyed the quiet seclusion and zen environment of this wonderful piece of paradise. That being said, it is true that this is... Really a special experience and location. I'm looking at other reviews that complain about the price point, and I think that kind of comment has to be put in perspective. This hotel has stunning modernist architecture, great interior design, and picture perfect views across the Gulf of Thailand. And it's $200 per night. I can't think of anywhere besides Cambodia... For the price you have to pay here the rooms are not up to standard. No mini bar/fridge and very sparse. The gardens are lovely and sunsets beautiful. However the decking around the pool is in a bad state of disrepair with many loose boards and protruding nails. Meals are served on a long communal table so dont expect privacy... More

three modernist villas set in idyllic grounds on the sea, facing the sunset. Breakfast served on the beach or in the shade, beautiful pool, hammocks, huge curtained daybeds, shady areas beneath the trees. Airy rooms (with aircon), good beds, nice bathrooms, comfortable chairs on spacious decks. Houses and gardens beautifully cared for. The 'sailing club' adjoining the hotel, perched on... More

No bathtub?! Ouchie here, especially for $200 / nite. Kinda feeling too empty, too quiet, too boxy, too private, etc. but a perfect place for writers or so. However, nice sea view, small neat pool and spa looks enticing. 3 stars, not 4, FYI.
