My husband and I spent our first two nights on Safari at Lake Burunge Tented Camp. Our room was a spacious tent on a raised platform with a bathroom and and shower inside. Rustic and comfortable. The view was beautiful of the lake from the porch of our cabin and the staff were welcoming and friendly. It was our first... More

The rooms are raised floor tents with a running water bathroom. They were clean and comfortable. The main common area was very nice and open. Felt like I was in Hawaii. We were part of a OAT group on safari. Staff was very nice and the food was the best on our trip. We had a very pleasant stay here.

We were traveling with OAT to Kenya and Tanzania, and spent two nights at this lodge. While the rooms are roomy, they are slightly better than basic. The shower, with a concrete floor, was easy to slip in and potentially fall. The area is nicely situated right on the lake, and the views are incredible. Having a drink on the... More

The property is beautiful and rustic. The "tents" are raised off the ground, have a solid wood floor and high thatched roof, with large balcony and 2 chairs. View of lake is a bit obscured by overgrown trees and bushes. Water in taps and showers comes from the lake, so don't drink or brush your teeth with it. Bottled water... More

What a unique (for a first time traveler to Africa anyway!) place to spend a night between safaris at Tarangire and Lake Manyara parks. The place was a bit challenging to find (they need better road signs!), but after getting there, the staff took great care of our group. The central lodge as well as individual tented lodges have great... More

How do you get a terrible rating when you have a wonderful staff, beautiful location and very nice accomodations? Easy, you lie to, and rip off your guests. I was aware that it was a long drive to Tanangire's main entrance over a rough road from earlier research. However management claimed that the drive was necessary because of the very... More

I loved this place. I did read past reviews and wouldn't have liked to be a small group or couple here while OAT was "in the house", but as I was on an OAT trip, I loved it. I no longer camp rough at home so enjoyed the upgrade to running water and in tent shower; and had no complaints... More

We stayed here at the start of our safari in Tanzania. First the plusses: its a beautiful location with a good view of the lake Burunge. And the staff try their utmost to make you feel at home: no it isn't the Waldorf, but they are helpful and friendly. Our bungalow was clean, had all the facilities and everything was... More

We totally enjoyed our 2 nights here. Comfortable; scenic and just what we needed to experience Africa on our safari trip. Our tent had a raised floor and two comfortable beds with mosquito netting. Attached bathroom. Porch on the front that gave us a view of the lake.

The camp at Lake Burunge was a delightful place to stay. The tents were very nice and clean and the staff was very helpful. The only drawback is that the planned entry to Tarangire National Park is not currently open, so there was a fairly long drive to tour the park. The drive was worth it though as the park... More
