This place is luxurious and takes great care of their visitors. The only negative is that it is a good hour or more from Kibale Forest. -Awesome view over a pristine crater lake (which you can walk to and boat/swim in). It's clean and warm and monkeys will greet you on your walk down. -Biggest bed I've ever slept in... More

Not only for the Ruwnzori mountains, but also for all Uganda country. It's just a dream, the cottages/rooms are in logs timber, large and beautiful, as well are the bathrooms. The restaurant is excellent, the service very efficient, sympatic and pleasant, and the management know all about the area and is very helpful. Just a place you would like to... More

This has to be one the most elegant lodges in Uganda. It's location is enough to take your breath away and the views are quite amazing. we only dropped by for lunch and a swim but I was so impressed by the level of design and service that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The swimming pool is idyllic and... More

There is not much I can add to the reviews below, this place was a delightful surprise.Large clean rooms, beautiful bathrooms with a view from the bath, and a huge balcony with stunning views to the mountains and over the crater lake. Very good laundry service, and even though this is not strictly a safari lodge,it was free. The food was excellent... More

In reviewing a hotel one would normally express opinions on the hospitality shown and comfort experienced. Kyaninga is not normal - it doesn't even seem quite real when one is there. That first view when the lodges come into sight is quite spectacular. As one approaches, the reality of the extraordinary and beautiful constructions become clearer and more exciting. The... More

The first sighting of Kyaninga Lodge will give its guests a little taste of what to expect when staying here. On approach, you see nine wooden lodges (eight guest rooms leading off the main lodge), built to resemble galloping horses (so I've been told), rising up on the hill amidst the lush environs of Fort Portal. It is absolutely breathtaking,... More

We stayed in Lodge number 6 . These are extraordinary buildings, huge wooden log cabins but with all mod cons and run on eco principles, The outside balconys are huge and all perched high overlooking the beautiful crater lake. As we looked out we saw about 5 black and white colobus monkeys sitting in the nearby trees watching us which... More

Disclaimer: I live in Africa, so not much shocks me anymore. I also don't expect a whole lot living here. Location: This lodge is one of a kind. It is set on a volcanic crater lake, like nothing I have ever seen. Unlike any other water I know of in this country, this water is clean, clear and parasite free!... More

I was lucky enough to stay at the newly built Kyaninga Lodge with stunning views over Kyaninga Lake and Rwenzori mountains. The place is phenomenal. An inspired and beautifully built place with incredible views. The service was second to none, couldn't have been more welcoming. The food was incredible, just loved very second of being there!

The vision that Steve Williams must have had for this place was truly inspired and it's execution lives up to that entirely. Coming over the hump of the driveway to catch your first glimpse of the lodge and cottages is like something out of a fantasy movie, and the view over the other side is even more spectacular. The staff... More
