Myself and my girlfriend stayed at the Primate Lodge for one night as part of a safari with Great Lakes Safari which ownes the lodge I think. We stayed in on of the cottages which was newly built and of good standard (hot water and WC etc). There was still more cottages being built at the time of our stay... more

For a place deep inside Kibale NP, you can't do better than the Primate Lodge. Consisting of a main building with a few small rooms and shared bath, several "tented cabins," and a "tree house," the Lodge offers comfortable, if basic, accommodations in a great setting. The food was excellent, and the service very attentive. We stayed in one of... more

We stayed in one of the luxury tents, which are basically very large permanent tents on wooden platforms. Primate Lodge is inside the Kibale Forest, and you can’t ever forget that you’re in the jungle. No other tents were visible from ours, monkeys chattered outside all day long and even ate on our little porch, and baboons ran through the... more

We came to Kibale to go Chimp tracking. The lodge is in a beautiful spot just down the road from where the Ugandan Wildlife Authority starts the walk. We ate our meals outdoors in an elegant manner. We stayed in a small Banda which had comfortable beds, carved furniture and a bathroom tiled in local rock, all eco-friendly and luxurious.... more

We stayed in the forest camp for two nights in July. The camp couldn't be better located within an easy stroll of the chimp centre in the middle of the forest. We stayed in the luxury tents which were very nice. The tents are in good condition with plenty of space and all the storage you could need. The bathroom... more

I was reading the comments about Primate Lodge and must say that I'm a bit surprised by the review below. Personally, I have been in Uganda already a few times and visited Primate Lodge twice. Both times, I absolutely enjoyed my stay! The staff was so friendly and helpful, and always treated me like I was a special guest. I... more

We had book a luxury tent paying in advanced. At arrival, we checked the flush toilet and it didn't work, so that we were moved to another tent. In the new tent the problem persisted. One pipe was broken. The manager told us they were unable to solve the problem until next day, we had to put up with that... more

We would like to comment on the feedback given below about Primate Lodge Kibale: First of all, we sincerely regret the inconveniences caused to our guests during their stay at our lodge. I stayed at Primate Lodge Kibale in February 2009. I'd heard reasonably good things about the place, but I have to say it surpasses all expectations. The activities - as you'd imagine - are fabulous....but don't just go Chimp trecking, make sure you also do the "Swamp Walk" with the SUPERB guide, Ivan. The name of the trip doesn't sound... more

rooms are good and the service was pretty good but it is a little tired. The bathroom in each tent is actually a permanent structure (ie: concrete, etc) and the water comes from a water tower heated by a small fire under neath it. The staff were really friendly and always helpful and the food was pretty good but the... more

What can i say! We went to Uganda for a month as a group of 6 students to work in an HIV/AIDS clinic in Kampala but thought we'd treat ourselves to a safari at the end of our trip. We happened to find Great Lakes Safari on the internet before we went and what a find!!! A local company so... more
