Stayed there during a skiing trip during Christmas week. I understand the rates were probably jacked up due to the Holiday week, but this place is not worth the money. There is no hot-tub nor pool. The place is old and in need of an update. More than just a flat-screen TV. View is nice, and close to the Gun... More

The staff is very sweet and attentive. The room was very nice and the food at the Pie Place is great. More

Just returned from a great weekend in Grand Marais. The Harbor Inn is right on the water with easy access and parking. Downtown shopping and historic sights are within easy walking distance from the motel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We always stay on the second floor lake side so the views, sunsets and sunrises, are spectacular! The diner downstairs... More

We are two hikers who stayed for a week in Grand Marais. Our initial encounter at Harbor Inn was unsettling. They did not have our reservation beginning until several days later. However, when I showed them my confirmation email they very quickly acknowledged a computer error. They could not put us up that night, but they got us a room... More

I asked for a main floor lake view as my husband has a difficult time with stairs. We looked at our car parked at the curb instead of the beach, so had wished we could have gotten a room upstairs. I would suggest installing sheer curtains behind the heavy drapes so you can have the drapes open and it would... More

My husband and I booked a room at the last minute in July. We had camping reservations but they were canceled due to a government shut-down for the week we had planned. When I first called, I was asked to "call back because I'm the other line." Hmmm. Could use a little phone etiquette training there. Not high on the... More

chose this place for 2 nights based upon favorable reviews on Trip Advisor. We paid in advance for the king bed harbor view room and asked for an additional fridge since we were bringing a cooler with food for a week in cabins on the gunflint trail. The manager, Jeremy couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. He said we... More

When we checked in we we're told the AC wasn't working in our room and that it would be repaired sometime later that day. The repair man never arrived and we received no apology or refund when we checked out. Hair dryer was broken, door lock was loose and room lacked a deadbolt. The bathroom was old and in need... More

It was an older hotel, but updated and very clean. We ended up having to leave as the a/c in our room wasn't working and it turned out to be warmer/more humid there than usual. They were going to try and get someone to fix it in the a.m., but we were from Iowa where we had been having 100+... More

When it is very busy, it easiest to park on the back side, and enter through the back door. Go through the screen door directly in front of you. You will be entering the cafe, but you also will see a check in window (right beside the restrooms). I have to admit I was a little nervous as the back... More
