Our two-family group spent our annual post-Christmas ski holiday at Gunflint Pines again this year. As always, the Bakers made certain that our stay was pleasurable. The cabins were clean, pre-heated, and had wood stacked by the stove. And this year, Mother-Nature was on our side as well. In early January, no place else in the state had snow so... More

We wanted a simple, clean, comfortable escape from our crazy lives for a few days, where we could bring the dogs ( 2 labs) and not worry about them bothering anyone....We had three girls ( 11, 14,16) with us and then enjoyed being off unplugged for a while...no internet ( actually you can check your email in the main lodge)... Absolutely fantastic campsites. Each campsite has both an RV area and a tent area with the tent area being right on the lake. We stayed in campsite 5 and it was fanstastic. Two fire rings, 3 picnic tables, a wooden couple chairs with built-in table. We were able to find a flat place for our 9x12 tent. We were separated... More

Great resort and campground in the Boundary Waters area. The Bakers really go out of their way to make sure that you're comfortable and get that true Boundary Waters experience. We went with 2 couples and 5 kids between the ages of 3 mos and 14 years and there is something to do for everyone! There is a beach area... More

We travel 600 miles (often in one drive!) from Illinois yo visit the north-woods twice a year. We've stayed at other locations in the past but found GOLD when we discovered The Gunflint Pines! Sheri and Bob are VERY accommodating and friendly! We spend A LOT of time birdwatching, animal watching and general hiking down here in Illinois so when... More

Thanks to Shari for making our stay at Gunflint Pines a very special one. The setting is beautiful as are the views from the A-frames. We enjoyed coffee with Shari in the very warm and cozy main lodge building where she drew a map for a short hiking trip to a hidden lake and a wonderful high bluff vista of... More

A big step below from other resorts on the Gunflint Trail. The accommodations were very dated and not kept up well, the staff was not helpful and the price was much to high in comparison to other resorts in the other. For the prices charged, you would expect a bed that is less than 10 years old, outlets and electricity... More

The owners went out of there way to let our dogs out while we spent the day in Grand Marias for the Dragon Boat races. Whether it's where to find berries, what fish are biting, what hikes are nice the Pines have always been ready to provide free helpful and useful information to make our stay as best as it... More

Shari and Bob do a great job of making everyone, including pets, feel welcome and right at home. The little store has everything you might need but have forgotten or run out of, including diapers and Oreos. And they have the best Ice Cream around. Yum! There is a great little play area for kids near the beach and even... More
