In reviewing the lodge, you have to consider that you are on an island off the coast of Alaska that is only accessible by semi-regular ferry or airplane. With that said we enjoyed our stay with the primary benefit being that all activities of any consequence launch from this point. Room finishes are regular lodge-fair with nothing special in the... Loved our stay at Glacier Bay Lodge. It is very expensive, but that seems to be the norm when staying in National Park Lodges. Our room was old, but clean. Nicer than the rooms at Yosemite Falls Lodge. The all day ranger-led boat tour of Glacier Bay was spectacular! We saw grizzlies, mountain goats, eagles, whales, otters, seals, puffins and,... More

If you are considering going to Glacier Bay National Park for touring, kayaking, or just to relax in the beautiful Alaskan landscape I would recommend a smaller locally owned lodge. The management and staff when we visited in August were not responsive at all to any of our needs. First when we arrived in Gustavus it took over an hour... More

We took this lodge and the tour as a package: the selling point for us was the ranger on board of the tour, who was supposed to explain and educate on the area. The lodge is set in a beautiful settings, the views are incredible so are the trails, the rooms are clean. The tour was NOT good. The ranger... More

We stayed at Glacier Bay Lodge in mid-August and it was great. The rooms are like cabins in the woods, connected by boardwalks. One evening when we were walking to the lodge for dinner we saw a momma porcupine and baby up in the trees right by our room. The meals at the lodge were very good, service was a bit... More

The national park system is amazing. You can't get better value for your money. I used my tour saver coupon and got two nights for the price of one and what a bargain. Watching the sunset from the lodge deck was fabulous. The location was great. The lodge has a van that picks you up from the airport and takes... More

We chose the lodge and boat tour package. The lodge is an excellent site for everything you want to do. Courteous staff, excellent rooms and great food at the restaurant. Everyone was courteous and helpful. Take advantage of the park ranger movies, talks and tours as they are an excellent way to learn about the area. At the lodge there... More

We enjoyed this lodge and all ,it had to offer. We choose the package from Aramark for two nights, the boat tour of Glacier Bay, along with all meals and free use of bikes and kayaks. The rooms were clean but the walls were thin. Our neighbors should have realized this but were ignorant to the fact. The food was... More

Our family of four spent two nights in a room at the lodge. All rooms are remote from the main building and are connected by boardwalks which less than one minute away. Nice room with double and two twins. Bed was not the best though with hikes and walks we were tired and had no trouble sleeping. Very helpful staff.... More

We stayed here one night while visiting the Glacier Bay National Park. Good accomodation!! It is hard to lug your luggage to your room because of many steps especially if your room is one of those at the lower levels in the property like we did. We had a view of the harbour from our room but I wonder whether... More
