My husband, girlfriend & I stayed one night at Granite Chalet and I wished that I had reserved another night as well. Granite was such a fun place to stay. We had an upper room with a little balcony on the end of the building with a view to die for and three sets of bunk beds (don't ask me... more

We stayed at Granite Park Chalet for two nights, starting August 7, 2009. I’ll start with the room. We were given a room for two in the "bunk house" annex out back of the Chalet. The room was literally 9' by 12', with bunked beds, a small night stand, and a director’s chair. The room was clean. As previous people... more

My husband and I spent 1 night (july 4th) during our honeymoon out of our 10 nights in Glacier. For some context- we are both in our 30's (early and late), architects from NYC & are on a national park kick so we have visited Yosemite, Big Bend, Smoky Mountains (twice), and now Glacier in the last 2 years. We... more

A friend and I stayed at the historic Granite Chalet for two nights in August, 2007. We had a wonderful time. We booked through the Granite Chalet concessionaire, which you can find online. For two nights, we ended up paying in excess of $300, which included linen service (sheets and blankets, with one pillow each - you could exclude this... more

My husband and I are not backpackers, but we had an incredible experience at Granite Park, which is basically a backpackers hostel (no electricity, no running water, outhouse, no food except candy bars and freeze dried meals for purchase). I like everything about camping except sleeping on the ground, so this was perfect because you do have a private room... more

As backcountry primitive lodging options go, Granite Park Chalet simply cannot be topped. Breathtaking scenery. Hiker comaraderie. Beautifully simple amenities. Competent and very gracious hosts. Silence! Take the achingly beautiful highline trail from Logan Pass to the chalet. Yes, it's vertigo heaven, but never dangerous. A weekly mule train brings supplies to the chalet, including propane for stove/lights in the... more

My husband and I made a last minute trip to Glacier in late July/early August. We spent most of our time camping at Sprague Creek campground in Glacier near Lake McDonald (very nice; small campground; tent-only) but decided to splurge on a last minute room at the Granite Park Chalet (we believe we got a cancellation). We also had the... more

We went to the Granite Park Chalet in July (one month after they had 8ft of snow) it was fantasitic. You are there for the view and the people. Dont expect a quiet room. You can hear even the whispers through the rooms. But the view. It is a must experience for anyone. Hike the 8 miles from Logan Pass... more
