We joined friends and their families for our first trip to Glacier National Park. This was the first backpacking trip we've taken with our children, 6 and 8. We hiked the highline trail to the Chalet. We had such a wonderful time there. The accomodations cannot be beat - a view with a room - clean and comfortable. The lodge... More

We only secured a place at Granite Park two days before we arrived due someone else’s cancelation. Their loss our gain! Even though we are all unfit and I am overweight the hike up the loop trail was fine. The warm greeting from Hannah and her brothers at the top soon helped us forget about the journey. Yes, the accom... More

Our party of 9 traveled to the Chalet on August 4-6 as an early celebration of my dad's 80th birthday. I am a backcountry enthusiast and experienced hiker, so I went with the mindset that I was camping and anything else would be a surprise. The average traveler must take into consider that this is a self-service, rustic rental property.... More

We've taken several trips into this chalet. Ever year is awesome. This year we went mid July. The snow was deep and we hiked for several miles in snow. Bring yak tracks and hiking poles and don't let the snow chase you away. The staff there makes you feel at home. Do it! More

Two years prior to our stay we went to the Phantom Ranch at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and loved it, so when we heard about the Chalet we signed up (make sure you do it early). We hiked in from Logan Pass (7+ mile hike). There was still a lot of snow but good boots, hiking poles and... More

This backcountry hut was amazing. We stayed for two nights and definitely recommend that - you need some time to savor the experience and chill, and (if the weather is good!) you can do hikes on the day in between. The location is breath-taking and you could stare at the views all day long. We hiked in on the Highline... More

Not luxury, but definitely everything I expected and more. The pictures do not lie-- and they frankly understate the 360 degrees of this gem of a park that greets you when look out of your room. The staff is very helpful- especially when it comes to organizing the meals and water runs. My fourteen year old son and I hiked... More

My husband, girlfriend & I stayed one night at Granite Chalet and I wished that I had reserved another night as well. Granite was such a fun place to stay. We had an upper room with a little balcony on the end of the building with a view to die for and three sets of bunk beds (don't ask me... More

We stayed at Granite Park Chalet for two nights, starting August 7, 2009. I’ll start with the room. We were given a room for two in the "bunk house" annex out back of the Chalet. The room was literally 9' by 12', with bunked beds, a small night stand, and a director’s chair. The room was clean. As previous people... More

My husband and I spent 1 night (july 4th) during our honeymoon out of our 10 nights in Glacier. For some context- we are both in our 30's (early and late), architects from NYC & are on a national park kick so we have visited Yosemite, Big Bend, Smoky Mountains (twice), and now Glacier in the last 2 years. We... More
