We probably saw Brooklyn and the Loralei at their worst. The January weather was mild but grey and wet. This was compounded by our general aversion to B&Bs and their bonhomie. So, before Robert says it, we must confess that we would have been happier in a rented apartment or an anonymous hotel. The problem is that having always stayed... More

I've been a hotel general manager for 30 years and I must say that I have never had a more pleasant stay than my recent visit to the Loralei. My wife and I enjoyed the extra space provided in the Sutton Suite including a large, well lite bathroom with tub and shower. Housekeeping was excellent with bed linens changed every... More

Visiting ng daughter, herhusband and grandson in Brooklyn - this was a perfect location 3 subway stops away with a subway station literally around the corner; close to Cortelyou for lots of restaurants. Robert was a wonderful host - place was immaculately clean, spacious, comfortable - we stayed in a large room with enough space for an extra bed for... More

Do you know the feeling when you arrive at a hotel and immediately realize that you should have booked more days? The Loralei is one of those places. Robert is a wonderful innkeeper who makes sure that his guests feel comfortable. Chatting with him is a joy and his tips were all very helpful. The room we stayed in, Gramercy... More

We had a great experience at the Loralei. We stayed in the Gramercy Suite on Sept 24-25, 2011. Our host, Robert, was very hospitable and made us feel very comfortable. Our room, facilities, and amenities were excellent. The house is stately and well appointed. The neighborhood is quiet and very charming, a peaceful oasis in the midst of Brooklyn. I... More

We booked two rooms at The Loralei B & B, after reading such great reviews on trip advisor. Our inn keeper/owner Robert, made us feel like family, providing us with wonderful directions and suggestions for our two night stay. He is warm and engaging so we really felt at home. The subway is only a couple of blocks away so... More

From the moment we booked the room at Loralei to the moment we got back home everything was perfect with this B&B. We had a beautiful room (Gramercy suite), the value for money when comparing to any hotel in New-York is outstanding. The B&B is located a couple of minutes from Subway bring you anywhere in New-York. The neighborhood is... More

Loralei B&B was a fantastic place upon which to base our New York City holiday. Our room, facilities and amenities met all of our expectations and the proximity to the B and Q Subway lines via Newkirk Ave Station was ultra convenient. Our host, Robert, made us feel very much at home from the moment we first made contact via... More

As someone who used to live in Manhattan, staying in the center of Brooklyn was an adventure - of the best sort as it turned out. The Loralei is marvelous Victorian house - hardwood floors, high ceilings and all the rest. Couples are better off in the suite while the other room is good for parents+child or 2 people not... More
