Took a second trip to the Fairbanks/Cleary Summit area February 2012, and made sure to stop again (twice) at the Chatanika Lodge restaurant. Decided to stop here on my last morning in the area. Had a most enjoyable time talking with one of the owners, Shirley, and a couple of other local folks at the counter. The place is unique and not touristy, the staff is very friendly, beautiful scenery, and the food is great and the beer is cold what more could you want!

Our stay at the chatinika lodge was not a good one at all.The owners were rude to us as well as most of their staff! i would not reccomend anybody spending their time or hard earned money there,but it was a beautiful but long drive.

The Chatinika Lodge is about 28 miles northeast of Fairbanks on the Steese Highway, about 18 miles east of Fox. Road is paved entire distance.
