After a long day of driving, I was mostly happy to receive a room that was reasonably clean. The hotel is not attractive in most ways, but the room was cleaned thoroughly. The hotel is generally very nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the view is excellent. The bar has great happy hour deals and the service in the bar is quicker than the restaurant. Red Lion At The Quay if awesome. Great room, good amenities, and awesome service by the staff. The hotel location is right on the beautiful Columbia River. There are great restaurants nearby (and in the hotel on the water's edge.) It takes only 4 minutes to walk to the Hilton (Convention Center). We stayed for 7 days. Highly recommended. more

The Red Lion at the Quay (Kee) is an older property with upgrades. Its a sprawling property (1960's) which grew from various expansions. It is built around a wonderfully slightly-heated pool. The Vancouver (Inn) at the Quay is an older property that has been maintained pretty well over the years. Its location on the Columbia River facing Oregon's Hayden Island / Janzen Beach is nice (especially if you have a riverside room), but you have to be prepared for some surprises. I liked the room I got (#237). It was a bit small, but OK for one person. They have very comfy pillowtop mattresses and apparently all the rooms are non-smoking. The room was very attractive. But, I would not stay here again because of the noise from the nearby train tracks. This very active train track is only a block... more
