This old hotel was just about perfect. Finding really good coffee in the lobby at 6 a.m. was an unexpected treat. The staff at check in and check out were Texas friendly and they were very knowledgeable about the Star Party out at the McDonald Observatory. more

The Hotel is quirky, rooms were clean and amenities are good (coffee maker, etc) HOWEVER... the restaurant is awful. Overpriced. There was a hair in our salad. Service was appalling. You need to bring food or choose another place to eat. We stayed in the 'suites' building, which had under cover parking - that's a bonus. more

I spent one night at the Hotel Limpia recently and totally enjoyed it. The Hotel is old, but is well-maintained. The staff were very friendly and the food at the restaurant was top notch. I would definitely recommend this hotel for those traveling to West Texas and the Davis Mountains. more

Hotel Limpia has made me question the wisdom of staying at a "vintage" property. "Vintage" should not mean "thrift store." As far as I can see, there is absolutely no reason to stay in Fort Davis... if you want to go to a Star Party at the McDonald Observatory, it's worth the drive back to Marathon for the Gage, certainly.... more
