The website for this hotel does not do it justice. It is very well maintained. The room was clean, comfortable and had a great view of the Davis Mountains. There are a couple of trailheads right by the hotel that are very accessible for anyone. I highly recommend this for anyone staying in the Fort Davis area. It is beautiful,... more

This was my third visit to Indian Lodge and my fourteenth visit to the Davis Mountains State Park. The lodge is far above what you'd expect for a "state owned motel" type of place! The original lodge was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps and has been expanded since then. The architecture is unique and the layout is absolutely unlike... more

We stayed 2 nights at the lodge over Easter - the location is amazing and the staff was wonderful. The restaurant had surprisingly good food - which is good considering there wasn't much choice nearby. We had a room in the new section because we had 2 kids with us, our friends had a room in the historic section. Both... more

Well, this is the 5th or 6th time we've stayed at Indian Lodge, the first being back in 1979. It's a great place, but I'll say at the beginning, it's NOT for everyone! If you want quiet, comfortable accommodations, nice people, and passable food, then you'll enjoy the Lodge. If you need lots of outside stimulus, then probably not. The... more

What a place, like nothing I have ever experienced. I stayed here for 2 nights on a motorcycle tour and was glad I had the foresight to book 2 nights. Coming back after the first day was like coming home. My room, (When booking, try and get a room in the historic part of the hotel) was superb, very well... more

The Lodge was a very nice place to stay, and the Blackbear Restaurant was VERY good and VERY reasonably priced......but....The first thing I asked the attendent was if the rooms were handicapped accessible. She assured me they were, and there were no elevators, but all rooms and the restaurant were accessible by ramp. And they were. But, if you have... more

I enjoyed this lodge, but I still thought the Chisos Basin Lodge was better. The restaurant staff was very cordial. Food was very good, not great, but I can't complain since the restaurant was on-site instead of driving 6 miles back into Fort Davis. In my room, I could hear footsteps from upstairs. Although, I did stay in the historic... more

I had stayed at the Indian Lodge as a child and had wonderful memories. It was still the same comfortable feeling as many years ago with the beautiful setting. The rooms were comfortble and simple and staff helpful. Its outdoor space is charming and takes advantage of the mountain and climate. The only downside was while staying in the new... more

My husband and I made the trip from the Granbury, TX area several years ago and it was one of the best we ever made. We always planned to go back and take the rest of the family. The weather didn't cooperate much as we had lots of fog and rain, so we weren't able to enjoy all the views,... more

I have stayed at Indian Lodge several times. All of my stays have been really nice. One time I got booked into the new section. It was nice but almost like being at a Holiday Inn, except there was a nice view out of the window. When you make your reservations, specify that you want to stay in the old... more
