This was our first over-night trip to Gettysburg and we'll definitely be back for a weekend stay. The Doubleday Inn was very beautiful and had that B & B charm that my husband and I are finding more difficult to encounter these days. We didn't miss the TV one bit. Christine was extremely helpful in providing us with maps and... More

My sister and I had only one weekend to spend in Gettysburg. Luckily we were able to reserve a room at the Doubleday Inn on the battlefield. This is a well-organized operation owned and managed by Christine and Todd Thomas. Our room was spotlessly clean, quite comfortable, and supposedly haunted by a friendly ghost; but alas, there were no night... More

We were beyond pleased with the Doubleday Inn! The location was AMAZING~ right on the battlefield, surrounded by monuments, a fabulous hammock to swing in, a lovely yard with trees and chairs with a terrific view, a quiet road for evening walks or runs, far enough away from the craziness of downtown but within just minutes of it by car.... Christine and Todd are the type of people that are just comfortable to be around. When arriving, we were greeted by Molly, their Golden Retriever-she presented me with a ball and was content just to walk us in. No jumping or slobbering all over us-really awesome dog. As host, Christine and Todd were low-key-we didn't run into them each time... More

We have stayed in another bed and breakfast in the town of Gettysburg for years. We were disappointed about how rundown it had become and decided to try a new place. What a wonderful place we picked! The Doubleday was warm and so very comfy. The owners could not have been any nicer. They gave us a tape for a... More

Christine and Todd Thomas are rare and wonderful inn keepers, historians and just incredible people so it's no wonder that a stay in their inn is truly heavenly. They start your day with a breakfast that will carry you through the day. They can direct you to events, shops, anything Gettysburg and the surrounding area. The care that is obvious... More

We stayed on a Saturday in June. We were excited about being able to stay right on the battlefield but the location really does not give you much of an advantage as you still have to drive everywhere. The walls are thin and on our stay the guests were so loud. Absolutely no regard for other guests. The staff was... More

My second stay at this charming B&B, only one located on a battlefield of the Civil War. Christine, Todd, and of course Molly very welcoming and helpful. Our room very comfortable with huge bathroom. Breakfasts delicious. Especially enjoyed the garden, the views from the property at early morning sunrise and mist vistas, a photographers dream. Todd and Christine are a... More

This is a lovely, traditional B&B with extremely friendly and welcoming hosts. The freshly cooked breakfasts are creative and delicious. The rooms are very small but very nicely furnished and fresh and clean. Being right on the battlefield is an advantage and the views are delightful, It is a little walk into town for meals. More
