I have stayed in many B&Bs and historic homes over the years, and I have to say The Gables is the best I have stayed in. The house is stunning and immaculate, yet very cozy. The hosts are welcoming, just the right mixture of business and sociability. The website photos just do not do the house justice. I stayed 2 nights,... More

Visits to The Gables is like returning home. All the rooms are very comfortable, breakfast is outstanding, and the inn keepers very friendly. Located on a train line, it could not be more convenient to the city. More

We loved this place. The host has a good sense of humor, makes great breakfasts, and understands the balance between being a good host and giving the guests their privacy. Our room was lovely (although if you will be needing a desk while you are there, make sure you ask for a room with one - there are several). Internet... More

We recently visited our daughter in Philly and spent 3 nights at The Gables. This beautiful home is impeccably clean and maintained and offers a feast for the eyes. The innkeepers are cordial and welcoming but allow their guests privacy. We stayed in the lovely Garden Room which is a bit small but served our purpose well since we spent... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in September and it was just wonderful, the room was great and the breakfast was awesome. Don and Warren were very helpful with directions and things to do. The trolly stopped right out front which made getting around very easy. Loved our stay at The Gables!! More

The Gables was a very nice place. Very clean and comfy. The breakfasts were very good and the inn keepers delightful. The trolley runs right on the corner, just be sure to catch the one going in the right direction! GPS lead us straight to the place without any problems. Will surely stay here again if in the Philly area. More

I was attending a conference in Philadelphia and the downtown area hotels were booked. I decided to trust the trip advisor reviews and stay at this bed and breakfast. I'm glad I trusted the other reviews. My room was awesome and the staff were extremely friendly. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. There is a trolley that stops right outside of... More

We chose this B&B from your reviews, not knowing anything about Philadelphia and our first tour of this historic city. Although in West Philadelphia, the trolley system which stops across the street from the B&B made everything accessible. The trolley/subway system is easy to master. The Gables is a lovely 1889 Victorian home lovingly restored over 20 years. We loved... More

We are very sorry that this guest was too hot. To our knowledge no one has complained about the air conditioning not working. The units in each of our rooms have been checked and all seem to be cooling just fine. We have to wonder if they did not have it set to the proper cooling (high, low, energy saver)... More
