The hotel was a bargain in a great section (lower Park, near Little India). The staff were very pleasant, the room smaller but fresh and very clean, the evening get-together more akin to a B and B than a Manhattan hotel, and breakfast was satisfactory. After hours scrutinising all hotel reviews, we finally decided on Hotel Giraffe for our first visit to New York and we were not disappointed. The location is great, handy for Empire State Building, Macys etc. Staff were great, lovely breakfast, good choice of croissants, bagels etc. Cheese and wine is a bonus if you manage back in time for it.... more

The Giraffe is well located--quiet area, shops and restaurants within easy walking distance--but quiet in comparison with the up town hub-bub. The accomodations are pleasant and the staff always accomodating. We feel welcomed there. more

I'm so happy that I chose this hotel for my 5 night stay in NYC. The location was great for several reasons: -easy to hail a cab (on Park ave) -close to subway stops -entrance to hotel on 26th is in a calmer area, so entering/exiting building doesn't feel rushed/busy -Gramercy area has lots of good restaurants in easy walking... more
