My partner and I were really pleased with our 4 nights stay at the Ameritania Hotel. It's location was excellent. We found the staff all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and quiet, lovely crisp white bedding and the bathroom was perfect we didn't expect to have a bath and a shower which was definitely a bonus.... more

I came for 2 nights only, just to "feel" New York so this hotel was perfect for me. Reasonable price in the heart of the center of Mannhattan - which is suberb!!! Rooms are reasonably clean though look and decor are quite old. They could use some renovations but it might change the prices... The old window-AC in my room... more

The room does not have nothing absolutely excessively. A good bed, a good bathroom and just. The TV is old, but who goes to the NY to see TV? The localization is really fantastic, still more for tourist. The services are the weak point of the hotel. The Internet is awful and paid. It is a tip: don´t stay at... more

My husband and I stayed here during a surprise trip for his 40th birthday. As we exited the elevator, I noticed the carpet looked like it had severe water damage and smelled like a molding wet towel. When we entered our room we were shocked to the very, very small size of the room. (The pictures/advertising is very misleading) The... more

We stayed in floor 10 and EVERY MORNiNG without fail we were woken with an almighty crash of the heavy fire door opposite...everytime we were dozing back to sleep there it was, absolutely intolerable. Having stomped out to the corridor pyjama clad on morning 2,I asked the chambermaid if she could possibly stop banging the door...did it make a difference? No.... more

i had a reservation in the Moderne-a sister hotel. they had no room due to a "plumbing" problem so they sent me here. my room was very tired and used. the bathroom was disgusting-sink falling off wall, damp musty odor, shower handle was loose--the whole place gave me the feeling this was once a 'SRO' hotel that suddenly became a... more

Never again. I should have known better. The internet reviews weremisleading. The bad omens started when we got off the elevator on the 11th floor. It was dank, dreary, the rugs were rumpled and the wall paper corners were turning down, a hotel down on it's luck. The room was far worse. The plaster over and around the window was... more

I think most points on this hotel have been adequately covered in recent reviews. There is no question that the hotel has a prime location, close to most Broadway shows. The main problem is that it has seen better days and is in desperate need of a facelift. Personally that didn't bother me as it all added to the amazing... more

I stayed one night (Saturday) at this hotel. We checked in and were given a room on the 10th floor. I am well aware that city hotel rooms are smaller and was fully expecting it, but this room was ridiculously small. You could not have the closet door and the door to the room ope at the same time. The... more
