I have stayed at most of the better hotels in New York and the St. Regis cionsistently stands out as the best. There is nothing that the staff will not do to accommodate your personal needs and preferences. At the same time, they are in no way intrusive or unctious. They are trained to treat each guest as an individual... more

Booking through Amex Platinum Concierge Service this was my first visit to a St. Regis (part of Starwood Luxury Collection so got my points too!). I usually stay at the Waldorf in NYC but wanted to try this historic property. The building itself is amazing and one of the best of its style in the city. The lobby is posh,... more

Before I go off and nit-pick a lauded and historic 5-star hotel, let me put this in perspective: In 2009 I stayed at a range of other hotels, such as a 2.5-star Hampton Inn, 3-star Holiday Inn Express, 4-star Kimpton resort, and a 5-star Waldorf Astoria resort. I was satisfied with all of them, and slept well at all of... more

I stayed here one night for a mini vacation on a weekday/night. I requested early check-in... and boy, did I get it (I was in the room before noon!) The doormen were attentive and helpful, and helped with my travel bag. They even brought it up to my room, even though it was a small overnighter Check in was efficient... more

I tried the St Regis NYC after a great experience in the St Regis Shanghai. Both hotels offer the same private butler service and attempt to stand out on the basis of quality of service. The Shanghai St Regis succeeds at this while the NYC version fall short. My wife and I booked a "buy three nights get one night... more

The stay at this prestigous hotel marked two important family dates. The concierge began to communicate with us by email as early as three days before check- in to ensure that all we needed was there to welcome us. So it was. Soon after check-in we were greeted by our personal butler Lenny at the corridor leading to our suite.... more

I stayed in the St Regis for three nights over New Years with my partner. Overall I would rate this hotel very highly. It is an old charm type of hotel. I found the all the staff to be very polite and helpful, especially the concierge who always helped us find the things we were looking for and when I... more

My husband and I traveled to NY to celebrate my birthday. Our room was around $900 per night. We were paying considerably more than we would have had we stayed at the Four Seasons, which is just down the street, but we were told that this was the best in NY by our travel agent. The hotel has an old... more

I Stayed at the St Regis a few days ago and did not feel the 5-star quality I have had in the past. We payed over $800 for a room and asked for an upgrade and the lady at the front counter said it would be an at least $700 to be upgraded. The front desk managers do not care... more
