lets just say, staying here is an experience. upon arrival to our floor, the smell of urine hits you. the hallway is so small and you can hear peoples conversations in their rooms from the hallway. We booked a 3 bed suite. basically 2 rooms connected by a toilet/shower room. i stayed in the double bed room. it was small... More

When we booked the hotel we knew it wasn't going to be great. For that price in Manhattan we weren't expecting much but when we arrived the staff weren't very enthusiastic and just took their time with everything. After we got our key we had to split up and take 2 separate elevators up to our floor in what sounded... More

Stayed at the Riverside Tower from May 20th -24th and let's say it's a fairly 'bare bones' hotel. The lobby is a throwback to the 1970's, and not in a good way, whilst the incredibly tiny, rickety and slow elevator hardly helps inspire confidence on the way to the room. We had a party of three sharing a suite on... More

I booked a reservation for a suite and received a confirmation. I called and confied my reservation the day before I was scheduled to arrive. When I checked in they switched me from a suite to the smallest room with a twin bed. I had to put my suitcase on top of the bed to open it up. The room... More

This hotel had been a dorm for Columbia University. It is rather bare bones, but it is clean and the neighborhood is safe and easy to navigate. The price is really good for NYC. If you are going to be here in "warm" weather, be aware that the a/c is not central, but rather individual units in the window. I... More

We stayed at the hotel from May 10 to 13. The lobby and hallway and elevator looked like they hadn't been redecorated in 30 years. The room was very small. We had to squeeze past each other to get around the room. Had to leave clothes in suitcase since there wasn't enough drawers to put them into. The carpet smelled... More

Just stayed there for perhaps the tenth or more time, always a couple of days. That should say enough. We really like that place and feel at home there. Sure, there is no restaurant, no exercise room, no pool and no bar, but hey, who cares?! There is Zabars at the corner, plenty of fine eateries nearby and if you... More

I really don't understand the bad reviews. It's Manhattan, remember that! Even 3 stats hotels have small rooms, so it's something that you might expect, unless you can pay for The Plaza... Yes, it's an old building and the furniture is old fashioned. But, unless you go to NYC to stay all day long inside the room, belive me, it... More
