My new bride and I (both 59 years of age) had the most incredible honeymoon in New York, staying at the Hotel Iroquois. We stayed for one night in a deluxe room; we were in town to visit an exhibit at MoMA, in easy walking distance. Pros: Nice, clean room in good shape w/ contemporary decor. Spent New Year's Eve and a few extra nights there. The location is excellent: walking distance to many sights, restaurants and all the action.
