This Aladdin Hotel was definitely the WORST hotel I´ve ever seen in my life. I am from a developing country (Brazil), and I´ve never seen in my country such a bad place to stay on. It is as SHAME that the New York department of something-related-matter did not close down this place. I´ve booked a room at this tourist trap... more

This hotel is basically a shelter. It is disgustingly dirty and there are scary people running around at all hours of the night. The couple staying in the room next to us got into a fight and we could hear the man beating the woman. There were screams and horrible noises coming from the next room and the police were... more

This is not even comparable to YHA. Far from it! Can't close the windows at night. Spider web in every corner of the room. Flooded bathroom and toilets. If you want to ruin your holiday, this will definitely fulfill it. more

All 6 us my friends and I stayed in one big room. We laughed we dranked and partied. The only thing we had to adapt to for that week was the shared bathroom. But it was New York during spring break, we understood. So no big deal. We're from Chicago, not that much difference. more

I got to the hotel during the morning. I was handed the keys to my room, wich I knew was a shared room. I open the door, still carrying my luggage and what I see: to half naked 25 years young girls. I... am a male. So what I did not know, was that the room was shared by members... more

I can't believe this hotel hasn't been closed down. I stayed there on my second visit to New York a few years ago but after two horrendous nights checked out and, thanks to a friendly, sympathetic New Yorker, found somewhere equally central, inexpensive, spotlessly clean and welcoming (Portland Square Hotel - stay there instead!) The lift at The Aladdin wouldn't... more

I arrived directly with a friend from Newark-airport in this carnage-hotel. This was the most disgusting place I have ever been or seen: no A/C, no windows (!), very small bed, sigarette-burns on the carpet. Repulsive bathroom with gangsters running around. I thought we were going to be raped or murdered. We havne't slept for a minute due to the... more

Myself and my friend stayed here in summer 2001 whilst at uni - perhaps because we were students then, and didn't expect much, we weren't disappointed. I don't remember any mice, I just remember the room being basic but more than adquate, the staff being helpful and the atmosphere in the place being very good. Yes it's not luxury but... more

I arrived here with my son in 2001 and he was 7 at the time. Had booked a couple of nights here as part of my round the world trip. We had arrived from the UK and this was our first destination of the year. I agree with a previous poster,,, if you expect nothing then you are not disappointed... more

Room was awful. 3 bunk bad, no linens. The room smelled very bad. We tryed to open the window but we... more
