I brought my teenage daughters here for an overnight stay and was very pleased. The location is safe and practical. The biggest asset is the hotel staff who even held our luggage for us after our checkout so we could continue walking in the city without having to carry our stuff. Very good location near Union Square. Tiny but clean rooms, toilets/shower in the corridor which were usually free and clean. Good hotel if you want a central base for your midtown stay. More

The price was excellent, very close to subway stations and obviously you can walk anywhere if you have the inclination to! New York is expensive and this place for this price was great. 4th year in a row here, always clean, friendly. Wifi throughout. Bathrooms are shared on corridors, rooms are New York sized, i.e. not huge, but on the edge of Union Square, and very nice. Also they store your baggage free on last day, reception always very helpful. More

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay (4 nights) at Hotel 17 and will stay there again the next time I am in Manhattan. It's right near 3rd Ave and 17th St., just walk up 3rd to the subway and you can be anywhere in Manhattan very easily. We were visiting NYC for a couple days before a friend's wedding in NJ. This was a great place to stay in manhattan. Great clean room, they get the shared restrooms clean, and the price was right and the location awesome. No problems and would certainly consider going back there again if we get to visit NYC anytime soon! More

Four of us stayed here between Dec 24 and 29th, two in a "triple", two in a "double" room. The triple had 2 beds, one a queen, the other a twin. Both had sinks. The double room had a double bed, so if you are two people used to a king or queen sized bed, you might find it small.... More
