Room: Everything in the room was as nice and comfortable as all the reviewers have noted except for one thing: The heater seemed to be always on regardless of what the setting was on the thermostat, I had it even at the lowest setting (55 degrees F?) and it was still blowing out hot air, I ended up turning the... My husband and I stayed 1/25-1/29. We were there on business and we were extremely pleased with staff, room, view, food, and all. This is a very tranquil and elegant boutique style hotel. The customer service was the best we've experienced in the NY area. All of the staff were very friendly, welcoming, warm smiles, and extremely accommodating. It was... More

The Kitano offers a superb location in New York City, just 2 blocks away from Grand Central Station. The hotel is nice, the staff is friendly and very efficient. The room itself is good. Not very large, but spacious by New York standards. The room was very clean, and so was the bathroom. All the things you need are there.... More

This tranquil, quiet hotel in Murray Hill provides a sanitary from the hustle and bustle of mid town. Rooms are sophisticated, clean, and elegant. Quality bath products, good water pressure and, ample made the bathroom adequate for my 3 night business stay. Morning delivery of NY Times is attentive. Try the corner room for nice views of Park. The bed... More

Visiting New York for business I selected the Kitano as I like to try new places, the staff is very attentive and upgraded me due to a water issue from 9pm to 6:00 am the true Japanese way to treat customers is felt at the hotel from the front staff to the waiter for in room service. The location is... More

I and my family stayed here in December. We booked 2 rooms through priceline. When we arrived , we asked for 2beds and rooms to be on the same floor (I accept we didn't pay for it, but we asked anyway). The woman at the front desk was not nice at all, did not seem to even care about our... More

I had a recently stay here for a packed business-related 3-night stay to the city. I needed to be in this neighborhood to be convenient to my many appointments and decided to give this property a try. I have previously stayed at the Grand Hyatt and didn't have a good experience there, and hotels located in other parts of the... More

Stayed here in January. Weather outside was cold and snowy. Although, the hotel itself is beautiful and the king room was very nice and clean, this place has issues with the temperature. Our room on the 16th floor was very hot. We were so hot all the time we were in the room. ( and I am not a hot... More

I stayed one night in this hotel, which--given the paper-thin walls that made sleeping a near-impossibility--was a good choice on my part. Upon checking in, my partner and I requested a room as far away from the elevators as possible. We were assured that this was not a problem, and handed the keys to our "upgraded" standard room on the... More

The hotel has a simple Japanese elegance with beautiful flower arrangements throughout the common spaces in the hotel. We arrived in the early morning and had asked for an early check in and the staff had a room ready for us at 9 am no waiting just a pleasant greeting and "we have been expecting you". The location is within... More
