If you're after budget accommodation in New York without the shared bathroom experience, this is the place to stay. The rooms are an eclectic mish-mash of furniture but it all works. Small, comfortable & in a great, central location. More

If you want to stay at a typical hotel, this place is not for you. This place is a cross between a hostel and a bed and breakfast without the food. What you get is a room, sink, and a shower. my room (1B) had a double bed, dresser, desk, tv, sink, and shower. It was a cute room. Toilets... More

I stayed at the Chelsea Lodge a few years ago and remembered it fondly, so I stayed here again for a recent visit. It's the perfect place for me when I visit NY. Yeah, the rooms are a little small and it’s a bit noisy, but hey, it's New York! I felt like I did when I lived here years... More

My 10 year old daughter and I recently visited NYC for the weekend and stayed at the Chelsea Lodge. It was perfect..walking distance to plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and Chelsea Piers (bowling alley, ice skating, rock wall, etc.). It was only a 10 minute cab ride from Grand Central Station too. This hotel had a cute and homey feel...more... More

Stayed 4 nights in a Parlour Suite, having seen a recommendation in the UK Sunday Telegraph. The location was very convenient for the subway, nearby shops and restaurants and a few blocks away from 5th Avenue and the Empire State Building. The suite took the form of a spacious room, adjacent to the street, which had been sub-divided to include... More

A nice place in the heart of Chelsea. The hotel is in a nice three floors building in a quiet street. The rooms are very small and do not have toilet but only the sink and the shower. I agree with the reviews talking about a non satisfying sleep quality of the room: the bed is not particularly big and... More

We have mixed reviews about our stay at Chelsea Lodge. I knew what to expect but my partner was very underwhelmed when we arrived and saw our room It was tiny with a double bed, no toilet (as I already knew) and a shower in our room. During the night we were both very hot and uncomfortable, there was no... More

We stayed 4 nights in Chelsea Lodge during winter. Reservations were made through their website, 5 months in advance. Location: Nondescript brownstone building in a tree-lined neighborhood, with a local NY feel to staying here. There are no signs for the lodge so just trust that you got the right address - "318" is on the right side of the... More

We stayed here for 4 nights whilst visiting NYC for the first time. Yes, the rooms are small. Yes, the toilets are shared. But it didn't matter. We were out exploring the city all day and night, simply returning here to sleep and shower in the morning. The location in Chelsea is brilliant - close to Chelsea Market and The... More

I was in NYC for just 4 nights, and wanted something cheap but with a good location within Manhattan. After a thourough research here and in guide books I found out about Chelsea Lodge. I got the room with no WC, just shower and basin. The room was small, as I already expected. Wsuitcases, one big and another mid sized,... More
