Don't stay here if you are looking for a luxury stay in NYC, but if you are willing to cut some corners to save money, this place is wonderful. It seems like they took an apartment building and transformed it into an inn. The only issue we had was that the toilet broke the first night, but they had it...

I thought it was great, if you like characteristic, modest, "real" surroundings you'd think it too. I went to New York wanting to slot myself into the daily throes of the city and found it pretty easy when staying on 17th street, a great location for the kind of non-tourist tourist with equally good distances to the tourist-tourist stuff. Stayed...

This was my second stay at the Chelsea Inn. I stayed here in June, then again in January. You really can't beat the location of this place. It is about a 3-minute walk to some great 5th Avenue shopping (J Crew, Banana Republic, Gap, Kenneth Cole to name a few), and close to the subway and wonderful restaurants (we especially...

Old, not so clean( the carpet was kind of scary) but i felt safe, and no bugs. The shared bathroom was fine. A convenient nighborhood, full of restaurants and bars and shopping. Easy to get to the subway. I think this is not your first or second or third choice but if this is the cheapest you can get you...

My husband and I stayed here for the Phish New Year's run 12/2011. When every other hotel in the city was $300+ a night, the Chelsea Inn came in at $170 a night. In the summer it is about $100. Parking was less than a block away for $45 a night. Our room was in the front of the building...

This hotel is located within walking distance of all kinds of great things, including the Chelsea Market, the Highline Park, Union Square, and all kinds of great shopping and little restaurants and such. It's got a small pub on one side and a gay club on the other. The Rubin Museum is just down the street and well worth a...

Had one of the upper floor rooms when I stayed here, a bit to cary the luggage but they had a luggage room so you don't have to carry everything with you.
Friendly service and team. In the Chelsea district so easy walking district to the Village and Union Square areas.
For around $100 or so a room I thought...

Great little spot in Chelsea. Close to everything you need and everything you don't. Staff is efficient, friendly, and informative. The rooms are small and sparse in some ways, yet have a mini fridge and coffee pot. This hotel does not have frills but is clean and safe. The reasonable rate may make you suspect, but don't be.
If you...

This hotel is in a fantastic location near Union Square and many subway stops. Plenty to do within walking distance. If you plan to go out at night, then this is the place for you. If you plan to sleep and are a light sleeper, you may want to look elsewhere.
There are no elevators so you have to lug...
