All I can say is 102 Brownstone is a great place, it is perfectly placed for the subway and only a few short stops on the 3 or 2 downtown train, you could not ask for a better host in Lizette, if you need anything just ask but if you want to be left to your own devices then that's... More

I would echo the comments left by recent reviewers, both about the accomodation and Lizette the owner. Had it been possible I would have given a rating of 4.5 out of 5. The room was great with high ceilings, a queen size bed and a large TV. The bathroom had a powerful shower. The subway was 2 mins away with... More

This is not your typical 'hotel"...it is more like renting a room in a private home. Owner Lizette was warm and welcoming, the room very comfortable, the neighborhood quite friendly (we felt very safe roaming around after dark), Lots of activity nearby but easy access to bus, subway, train if you want to head elsewhere. The only- ONLY -reason I would... More

We stayed 3 nights here, and it was a lovely, quiet, clean, comfortable refuge from the madness of downtown Manhattan! We felt like locals, with our own front door key. Catching the bus from La Guardia was so simple and cheap, and then the B&B is 10 mins walk down a main road. There is a great little coffee shop... More

My mother stayed here and she loved it. The room was charming and clean. The neighborhood has a lot of personality. Great place to stay. Lizette was wonderful. She accommodated all our requests. Only one precaution: this is not a regular hotel, so you might not find Lizette at all times. Therefore, I suggest you call her before you go... More

We found 102 Brownstone on Trip Advisor and decided to book it for 5 nights. The owner was helpful in providing us information on where are the nearest supermarket, pharmacy, breakfast locations and also, more importantly, the location of the nearest subway station. Overall, the location of the hotel is pretty good. The subway is just a 5 minutes walk... More

I had to be in NYC for two days of job interviews in the Bronx. I wanted someplace that was affordable, private and comfortable. 102 Brownstone is a "boutique" hotel on 118th street near Marcus Garvey park. For the unbelievable price of $119 (plus tax) I got a private room with a high ceilings, queen-sized bed, private bath with good-sized... More

Late review for a December stay…..my husband and I stayed at this hotel in early December. Our $30 round-trip flight savings was about to get annihilated by extremely expensive lodging until I found this place on Trip Advisor. As mentioned by others, the Brownstone was close to the subway lines, pretty quiet for NYC standards, and was a really great... More

I stayed in 102 Brownstone with my girlfriend over New Years Weekend. It really is not so far from downtown, just a twenty minute metro road or so depending on where you get on. It is five minutes walk from the 116th Street Metro and easy to find. The neighborhood is safe enough, interesting, and just steps from Minton's (a... More
