100 Charlton Street was fresh, clean and in a good location. 2 minute walk to the subway and very easy to get to the major attractions. Quite area (not many tourists) and only sleeps 5 so is a great spot to rest after a busy day/night. Female only and most of the people staying in the 2.5 weeks I was... more

I stayed there for 7 nights at 45$ a night in 2003. I was sleeping in a small bedroom I shared with another girl. It was a 2 level bed and one wall was brick. The loft had nice hardwood floors. It was clean, I could use the fridge, there is a nice area to sit, talk, watch TV. You... more

We stayed in a double room for three nights. Very good location but windows would not close so very noisy from early on (4am). Bedroom door did not lock properly so felt a little unsafe. Bathrooms officially the dirtiest on our RTW trip. Staff were helpful and we did not spend too much time indoors. There was a used plaster... more

What a shocker! This place was absolutely disgraceful. stayed there for 6 nights last summer. The staff were unfriendly. The rooms were not clean. Some rooms did not even have a proper door. Just a curtain as its entrance. There are dividers separating the rooms, so you can see into the next persons 'room'. I heard people talking about a... more

We had the most wonderful stay at Times Square Bed and Rooms! We were a little dubious from the outset, as when we rolled up to the front door it looked a little unsavoury, however as soon as we buzzed in and Sam (owner) came down to meet us, we were immediately put at ease. The hospitality was just great,... more

We stayed at the Times Square Bed and Rooms on the last leg of our RTW trip in december. I have to say that on first impressions, we actually considered just walking away (because from the outside, you wonder if it's safe) but once you get inside, you realise that you are staying in the best value accommodation in NYC.... more

I stayed here for 4 nights in January 2007. LOCATION The location was great, it is just across the street from the Port Authority Building (PAB) which is, I believe is one of the busiest bus stops in the world. This was very convenient as we caught a bus from Newark airport which arrived here. It is a two block... more

We stayed here for 4 nights. The place was located only a few blocks from Time Square. The location was very convenient. The place is located next to a 24 hr coffee shop right on the corner of 9th and W40th. There is a 24hr Dunkin Donut right on the corner of 9th and W42nd. We walked down on W42nd... more

I just got back from a three-day stay at this hostel and LOVED IT! When I first arrived, I was a bit nervous, because in all honesty, the entrance to the hostel, on 40th Street between 8th and 9th Avenue, is not the best. But when you climb the flight of stairs to the hostel itself, a whole new world... more

The rooms are not big, the bathroom is even smaller, but who cares when everything is clean, there are absolutely no bugs (see reviews of other hostels) and the subway station is just one block away. They have a PC with internet free to use, which is very useful. Sam is a very friendly, easy-going guy, he takes care of... more
