A friend and I stayed in the hotel Chandler for a shopping/sightseeing trip and could not have had better service. Everyone was polite, and made the effort to welcome us personally when ever they saw us.One of the doormen even went to the end of the block in the rain to hail us a cab. The rooms were very comfortable and... more

I took my 10-year old daughter to NY for our first "girl's getaway" and chose this hotel for its central location, easy access to the subway, and reasonable rate. I read reviews before we went and stay in NY frequently. It is your average NY boutique hotel. The service is very average. We took our bags to our room ourselves,... more

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Chandler, exellent location on a quiet street, near Empire State Building. The rooms were small but nice and clean and the staff were great. I would highly recommend this hotel if your going to New York, and we will make this hotel our hotel when we travel to New York. more

As a recent resident of NYC, I am very familiar with the local hotels. You get the ridiculously overpriced trendy/new boutique hotels in hot neighborhoods...The classic 'famous NYC' hotels, the too-good-to-be-true holes in the wall and the horrific tourist traps. Since I now live in CT and commute to the city for work, I needed to stay in Manhattan for... more

We had a great time in New York with our 16 & 18 year old kids, in no small part due to this great little boutique hotel. We selected it on the internet mainly using the reviews here and if anything it was better than we had hoped. It's perfectly located right slap bang in the middle of Manhattan. Empire... more

We booked this hotel on the basis of the reviews in trip advisor and also because it worked out cheaper than our usual hotel (Intercontinental The Berkley) at this time of year. We checked in without a problem and were put in a room on the 4th floor, 425 (smoking floor), the room smelt a litttle smokey so we phoned... more

As expected, we arrived early and the room was not ready, so we walked to get some theatre tickets at TKTS. On return, we discovered the room did not have a bath (tub) - which is something we value and assumed would be commonplace. Although full, they suggested that we use the allocated room that night and then they would... more

I'd never heard of Hotel Chandler before, but it was a nice stay. One block toward Broadway (going west) was a Dunkin Donuts and subway and around the corner heading east was a tasty cafe place sort of like EuroPan that you find around the Times Square and surrounding areas. Chandler offered complimentary tea/coffee and computer use all day (1... more

It started when our check-in was delayed and the staff kept giving different reasons. First, the previous guest hadn't checked out, then the room wasn't clean, then engineering had to attend to the room for some mysterious reason. The irritating part was first being told to check back in an hour. Sat in the lounge, checked back in an hour... more
