We found torn sheets on the bed and a mess on the carpet. They tried to clean the mess but made the carpet wet and smelly. The rooms are spacious for a manhattan hotel and the bellhops were always helpful with bags or in tracking down taxis. Service and decor lovely. Close to all Battery Park attractions, including walking path up the Hudson River. Very safe neighborhhood. Interesting street performers during the day in front of Statue of Liberty attractions. Restaurant in the hotel excellent.
