From the moment we were greeted by Anne and Mango after a 17+ hr plane flight we were made to feel literally 'at home'. If you are looking for a place to stay that is unique and special and will become a part of your holiday memories then this is the place for you. From the clean and comfy rooms,... More

Stayed at East Village Bed and Coffee over New Year 2011/2012 We were impressed from the moment we arrived. Harrison gave us a tour of the amenities and was very helpful with local information and facilities we could use during our stay, such as the bikes and the MOMA pass. If you read the FAQ on the East Village Bed... More

This is the best (and certainly the coolest) place I've ever stayed in while visiting NYC. Anne and Harrison were very welcoming and helpful. The dogs were so sweet and really added to the homey atmosphere of the hotel - thanks Anne for letting us take Mango for a walk! Although we didn't make use of it, there is a... More

East Village Bed and Coffee is the best place I have ever stayed. My husband and I have stayed many times and most recently on the day we moved to NYC when we discovered our new apartment was filthy. WE WERE MOVING ACROSS COUNTRY!! Anne was a LIFESAVER!!! The last time we stayed we were apartment hunting and hurricane Irene... More

We stayed at the East Village Bed and Coffee for 3 nights in late October 2011. It is a very funky, (do they still use that word?), different place to stay! We know the rooms are small, (we stayed in the Piper Cherokee room), but hey, you're only there to sleep!! Also, the shared bathrooms might put some people off,... More

Stayed here at beginning of this month. On arrival had a bad experience with the owner. Thankfully we didn't see her again at all before we left. In short, she stank of stale alcohol and was also just plain weird, for instance, she seemed offended when we asked how to get to time square. The b and coffee was quite... More

Thank you for your concern about the heat. Comfort is of the utmost concern at EVB&C. I understand everybody has different comfort levels depending on the climate and country of origin or from where you may be traveling. We have new energy efficient boilers that also produce hot water. As the heating system uses radiators it is not possible to... More

My daughter and I stayed for two nights, we found the 'Dutch Room' small but comfortable. We were met by Harrison, he showed us round the townhouse and informed us where everything was....bikes for our use (lovely bikes, although we didn't utilise them). ..computer on every floor....a fully equipped kitchen (we didn't use it, but the kitchen on our floor... This place would be a paradise in terms of location, value and comfort if it weren't for one thing: guests slamming doors all morning and all night. To make it worse, the doors are all painted, so they stick, which only amplifies the slamming sound. Very hard to sleep in this place. The second you start to fade into sweet... More

We stayed four nights in the Observatory room. We were checked in by an assistant (who we never saw again our whole stay), who was super nice, showed us how things work, etc. We hadn’t yet met the owner Anne. The next day when we arrived back at the hotel, we were surprised to find four little white worms wriggling... More

We must admit that grossed us out too. We opened the ceiling after you brought this to our attention and didn’t find any evidence of worms or a dead mouse. Bug spray is unpleasant but was a necessary precaution. An exterminator did arrive on your day of departure and did find a dead mouse. He serviced the entire building. Unfortunately,... More

I stayed here in April with my 12-year old son during his spring break. It was the perfect place for us. The neighborhood was eclectic and felt very safe. We had a great "non-touristy" vacation. By staying in the East Village, we got a true taste of NYC. The locals were very friendly and welcoming to us in the "hood".... More
