Rooms are small with basic amenities, but the proximity to trains, metro, main attractions etc makes this a good choice if you don't want to spend a fortune. The front desk team was superb in assisting us to sort out a double booking. It would have been great to have coffee/ tea facilities in the room as some of the... More

Just returned from The New Yorker. Lovely old american style decor. Hotel check in quick and efficient, room small but adequate, great view of empire state. Room cleaned daily and was spotless. Staff helpful, especially the lady concierge (sorry didnt get her name) went out of her way to help with travel back to airport. Location great. Tick Tock diner,... More

On my third visit to NYC i have choosen this hotel with my GF. The location is perfect as you can walk to Macys to shop a lot and walk back to make another round:) well, the rooms are not the biggest ones i have ever seen, but enough to sleep at night, its perfect for city visiting. Having travelled to new york on business, i booked at the new yorker through American Express Travel which advertised the New Yorker as a 4 star hotel. What can go wrong at a 4 star hotel in Manhatten? A lot. Having seen the bathroom situation, my wife rightfully refused to unpack. I posted a picture for you to view the... More

I've just checked in at the New Yorker and my first impressions are terrible. Ok the room is small, even by NY standards, but the worst is the awful dirty-looking carpet and the cheap bed linen, which doesn't fully cover the mattress.... This is the first time I'm misled by tripadvisor reviews, so wanted to set the record straight.

The hotel is in an amazing location. Msg is across the road. Tick tock diner which is apart of the hotel is decent, well priced with good food and okay service. Turn down service is good. The tourist information desk is very good. The people on there were very helpful and had a good knowledge of the city. They offer... More

For a no-frills, comfortable room you can't beat the New Yorker Hotel. Although, the rooms are small, they have everything one needs: comfortable beds, clean comfortable bathrooms, nice toiletries, and is very convenient with subway stops steps away as well as Penn Station around the corner.
