My wife and I stayed at the Trinity Hotel in August 2012. It was a wonderful experience and stay. We were in room 201 and it was very spacious, comfortable and unique. The claw foot tub was very large and a great relaxing alternative. The overall building is very clean, not overdone w/ updates and has the feel of the... More

Retired and enjoying life, my husband and I travel extensively seeking new experiences, but we do not want to lower our standards of living while on the road. So when planning a recent trip to the Carlsbad Caverns, I was stymied when it came to finding hotel accommodations. All the options all I could find were mid to low range... More

We stayed overnight in Carlsbad, New Mexico so we could see the bats. As much as we enjoyed the ranger talk, there were not a lot of bats the last week of May at Carlsbad Caverns. But the stay in Carlsbad was worth it just to spend one night at this lovely old hotel. The room was spotless and tastefully... More

Stayed here with my husband for one night. Very nice room immaculately maintained. It had all the amenities and the décor was upscale. Have a look at the website for room photos, and menus. Be sure to have dinner here, as it's the best restaurant in town. The wine tasting was a nice extra that we enjoyed, but buy the... More

The city of Carlsbad is a dusty little town in New Mexico, but the Trinity Hotel itself is a gem. The hotel is in an old downtown bank building that has been renovated into a small, boutique-style hotel and restaurant. Our room was #206, which included the old bank's vault as a second bedroom/den. Our granddaughter stayed in the vault... More

Nice place, a little bit old (the wood floor is noisy) but clean and renewed. As in many other reviews, I sugegst curtains, too, so avoid if you hate to have lights waking you up... or wear a sleep mask. All the staff, the owner and the housekeepers are very kind and friendly. It's not perfect, actually, but I don't... More

Being from Italy we think it is wonderful you think our circa 1892 building is old. We have been hard at work replacing the curtains in all rooms except 202, since we are on the historic registry both nationally and state wide the restrictions for our original glass with no glazing, etc. are very difficult to contend with. The new... More

I stayed here with two friends, and from the time we arrived til the time we checked out it was a wonderful experience. Dale and Janie really know hospitality, they were great and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The extensive renovations made throughout the hotel are beautiful and very well done. Access from outside... More

With an inn-like atmosphere and B&B attentiveness, The Trinity stands out as a destination itself in town most people would view as merely a place to sleep on the way to the caverns. Beneath the rough exterior of this converted bank are modern and beautifully appointed rooms worthy of a five star rating. The restaurant is one of the best... More

If you are going to Carslbad, and don't want to stay in a franchise hotel/motel, give this one a try. The hotel has character. It's housed in a former bank building dated to 1898, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. The rooms are not accessed through the lobby, but from one of two exterior doors. We stayed two nights in this conversion of a historic bank to a boutique hotel. We were greeted at check-in by the owner of the hotel who also made a dinner reservation for us. We stayed in room 101.
