Thank you for your review of our hotel! I can appreciate your comments and was pleased to see that you might return when you come to San Diego again. We have positioned ourselves to be a very moderately priced hotel in a fantastic location in Little Italy, with some boutique offerings. We are definately not a big-chain, cookie-cutter type of...

I was in SD for a conference w/ some colleagues. Was very happy w/ everything having to do the w/ this property. It was a bit off the beat'n path but didn't mind. Was quiet, clean and an excellent price. Has a great lil restaurant/bar - good prices. Would definately stay there again. more

The Porto Vista Hotel is located downtown in Little Italy right near the Gaslamp District which makes it convenient for an early evening stroll to shops and restaurants. However don’t eat out anywhere until you try the Glass Door Restaurant that is located on the 4th floor with great views of San Diego Harbor overlooking the passing cruise ships and... more

I was very pleasantly surprised by this little hotel. I paid $98.00 per night in Little Italy, which is fabulous. The hotel staff was very nice and the room was lovely for the price. It seemed underpriced to me. It would have been nice to have a microwave, there was a spot for one, but overall, it was great. I... more

Walked to everything - Gaslamp, USS Midway, Seaport Village, etc, although the nearby trolley stop would save some steps - $5 for all day pass. The hotel offers free shuttle to airport, zoo, and other attractions. Right in Little Italy, there was no need to go elsewhere for food/entertainment. Check out the Saturday street market - Yum! Our room was... more

I'm a monthly business traveler to San Diego and this place is a hidden gem. The hotel is centrally located in Little Italy in downtown with easy freeway access for travel around San Diego County. The lobby, rooftop bar and restaurant was perfect to meet clients and have breakfast, lunch or dinner. The view and atmosphere made clients believe I... more

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at the Porto Vista Hotel. We thought the location was fantastic; easily within walking distance to most attractions. We were able to walk through the gaslamp district and then head to a baseball game. I thought the location was plenty safe to walk at night but we decided to take a cab... more

The view from The Glass Door restaurant is priceless and our chef, Rob Conway, is always making adjustments to the menu to tantalize our tongues with new flavors. Summer is our busiest time of the year. Try us in the early fall next time, we still have summer temperatures but with shorter lines and more breathing room. Thank you for...

Beautiful views of the city. Great location in Little Italy. Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The Glass Door had a great happy hour and decent breakfast. I would stay here again. more

We were driving past Little Italy and found this hotel at the last minute for $95/night, one night. At first I thought I was getting a deal (since it was a last minute) because its in Little Italy and the lobby looked promising. Well the lobby and the rest of the hotel/motel are two separate entities. First, it really looks... more
