After travelling in Mexico, this hotel was our first stop in the USA. Staff very friendly and helpful and the room comfortable and clean. I was surprised reading other reviews after I got back home to the UK, as the examples certainly didn't fit with my own experience. Perhaps some parts of the hotel are better than others. Reception staff... more

I had to go to San Diego. I stayed in Howard Johnson on Rosecrans. Had a terrible time since lobby girl booked 3 people RIGHT Next to my room & kept me up most of the nights. I had to get out. I found West Park Inn, 1840 4th Ave, 1 room for $250.00 a week. Great deal for 7... more

I booked my stay at West Park Inn during the US Open. I was aware of other bad reviews, but thought as hotel's web site claims, "friendly international staff" it may be worth the relatively inexpensive price. Well it was not worth it! I did not think the staff was too friendly. Especially the night and weekend clerks, whom aparently... more

The hotel is located relatively close to Balboa Park and hence relatively far from everything else. I needed very economical accommodation for my first week in San Diego and somehow ended up there. Well, what should I say... The reception personnel were friendly and efficient. The hotel turned out to be a labyrinth of dark passages circling around two tiny... more

The bed was a full size. The room was smallest ever compared to other hotel. No space for parking, so you park on the street around winos and drug addict looking people. They do not have free coffee and doughnuts. My wife and I were never relaxed in this hotel. We do not recommend this hotel to anyone. more

The room was extremely small (single bed on 4th floor) and the bed was as hard as a rock! Some people like rock hard beds, but I don't! The room itself was clean enough, but here was no bathroom sink with a mirror, only a mirror above a kitchenette sink and it was too high up for someone who is... more

When we arived at the West Park Inn, we were pleased by the cleanliness of the establishment. Having arrived early, our room was not yet ready for us, but the staff kindly stored our suitcases while we became better acquainted with the area. A 10 minute walk from the Gaslamp quarter, this hotel is close to bus and trolley stops... more

This place seemed to be part hotel, part half-way house or something. Very odd characters lingering in and around the hotel. I did not feel completely safe. The house next door seemed to be a drug house with even more scary people around there. The hotel was somewhat clean and the staff was nice. I would never stay here again! more

I stayed at west park inn during the first week of august 2005. The stay was good. room was cleaned everyday and complaints were well responded to. Bus Route numbers 1,3 and 25 passes by in front of the inn which is very convenient. The only problem was the noise of planes, but I never woke up in the night... more
