We stayed here while my son was graduating from MCRD. When I booked this hotel, to be fair, they did say that it was under construction. I guess I wasn't prepared for the whole downstairs to be torn up. It was unfortunate that we didn't have a lobby to all sit down and get together. It looks like it will... More

Stayed in December 2011 just after Christmas. The location is great for walking to things in old town and for easily getting onto the interstate to drive elsewhere. The lobby was very comfortable and rooms were fine. Pool is small but adequate. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. We ate pizza out one night and had lots of leftovers... More

We wanted to stay downtown but a convention took all the hotel space. We settled for the Courtyard in the Old Town and what a lucky choice. Firstly the Old Town with a vibrant night life is three minutes walk. The transit stop is 5 minutes walk and a $5 pass gives unlimited travel around this beautiful city. The rooms... More

I'm sure that it will be all sorted out in the end. But at the moment, this hotel is not fit to be open. It is in the middle of major building work, it is dirty, dusty, much of the main area is under construction as is much of the accommodation area, and the lift is being used by the... More

I made a reservation for this hotel in July 2011. I had stayed at the hotel several times in the past few years and while it had not been updated to the new Marriott Courtyard standards, the property was "ok" and the service always excellent. I happened to check on the hotel website a week or so prior to our... More

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this property, and wanted to warn anyone planning on staying here in the very near future of the unfortunate experience we had. Normally if I book through Priceline, I feel I really can't gripe about what they give us..but it's a shame the Courtyard didn't opt to either lower their star rating... More

We chose this Marriott because of its convenience from the San Diego airport and easy access to Interstate 5. Old Town San Diego contains a large number of restaurants (almost all with very similar Mexican menus) and shops within a few blocks of the hotel. This Courtyard is an aging property and the rooms are adequate but certainly not luxurious.... More

Hotel is close to airport and that was good. The hotel web site states that it has complimentary parking and when I checked in I was told to try and park off-street or pay for parking. The corridors were not clean, dim and were smelly. Room was just about okay. Was a little disappointed as I thought I had booked... More

We were using a free night and this was the closest hotel to where we were going that we could use. On the plus side, the front desk clerks (all shifts) were very nice and helpful. They were knowlegeable of the area and public transportation. The room was clean and quiet. The location was perfect for Old Town. Just a... More

Arrived late and was given a room facing I-5. We called down to desk and was able to change the next day, and the front desk offered earplugs or a noise machine. The front desk staff was great. Very nice and helpful employees. After moving the next day we spent the next 3 nights in the front part of the... More
