We arrived on Friaday, Oct. 23rd at 2:45 pm. Alan at the front desk provided us with all the info we needed. (directions, maps, how far to the nearest store). What a helpful employee. We had reserved the Country Talk mini suite. WOW!!! 4 rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, king size bed in a roomy bedroom, living room with a... more

It was more than I expected. We walked to Balboa Park every day and walked to University Ave for dinner each evening. Because of the close proximity to the zoo we were able to take our time wondering the zoo over 2 days and never felt rushed. It was simple to take public transportation to the beach. The staff were... more

We just got back from a brief 2 night vacation in San Diego. We chose the Balboa Park Inn because it was right next to the park and the price was excellent. We stayed in the City Lights Room. The room was very clean and well equipped. The weather was delightful so we just opened the windows and did not... more

Our recent visit to the Balboa Park Inn was totally delightful!! Our huge suite was tasteful; bright, roomy and very comfortable. The decorations were quite pleasing, the furnishings charming and functional. More like a home than any motel, yet the level of privacy is well beyond what can be offered by any bed and breakfast. Everything was CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!!... more

My husband and I wanted to spend the weekend in San Diego and visit the zoo, so the Balboa Park Inn was in the perfect location, within 5 minutes' walking distance of the zoo and the rest of Balboa Park. I wasn't quite sure what to expect because some reviewers had said that the Inn was old and funky, but... more

This was my fourth visit to the Balboa Park Inn, staying in a different room each time. This trip I chose a mini suite (Monet's), with living room (two recliners and sofa), kitchen with full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and toaster and small and very comfortable queen-bedded room. Everything was immaculately clean (the shade in the bedroom didn't always... more

My husband and I traveled the coast along Rte 1 for a week. We stayed in 5 hotels along the way and this was definitely our favorite. We stayed in the Aruba Room ($99 a night). The room is small but the bathroom is gigantic. There is a whilpool tub, which felt great after a long day of walking around.... more

I booked this wonderful little hotel last minute (two weeks before I was due to arrive) as I was coming to San Diego for Comic Con. Initially they only had one night available as they were fully booked out for the rest of the week. I requested they keep me updated in case there are any cancellations. As fortune would... more

I have no major complaint with the Balboa Park Inn. They do nearly everything just right. Starting with location, the Inn is located across the street from Balboa Park. We are from NY and in our 30s so we enjoy walking very much. We walked to the Zoo in 10 minutes and the Old Globe Theater in 15 minutes. Just... more

We stayed one night in the "Beach House" Room. It was very nice in a different and whimsical way. Beach motif murals throughout and really roomy. The bathroom is enormous with a very nice jacuzzi tub. It was clean and comfy. The bed was really lovely...felt like sleeping on a cloud. It is a short walk over to the zoo... more
