My husband and I LOVE The Black Walnut! We have stayed in many B&Bs and The Black Walnut is definitely one of the very best. We stay here in September every year to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Peter and Lori are hospitable and gracious hosts and try to accomodate every special request. The home is kept immaculately and the breakfasts... more

The Carriage House is absolutely the best place to stay with your dog. It was clean and canine and humans were made to feel special. The newly-refurbished room had remote controlled fireplace and heating. In the room there was a large basket with doggie amenities which included a box of gourmet dog treats. There was an outside door with a... more

So Let me first rebuff "a little" from "Mr. Irunincircles". Since he's probably very young having listed his age from 18-24, he probably doesn't know what it takes to run a B&B and what to expect. And to say he was only in the house for 9 minutes seems a little stretched as to walk where he did would have... more

I am currently planning an engagement trip for myself and my to-be finance. I am from Charlotte and am planning on arranging this engagement in the Asheville area. So, I planned on driving to Asheville for the day to make arrangements with both the B&B and a local restaurant. I explained to Lori that I wanted to look at the... more

We are dismayed to recieve such an unfavorable review from this young man. I would apologize except none of these things actually occurred. He did in fact call about booking a single nights stay for a February weekend and we agreed to waive the 2 night minimum at that time. I found it a bit unusual that he required a site...

After attending a wedding in the Outer Banks, my husband and I decided to take a few days to see part of North Carolina. Asheville had been recommended by many friends and several guidebooks and articles mentioned this B&B. This may be the most comfortable, cozy and welcoming place we have ever stayed. We were in a room separated from... more

We stayed at The Black Walnut for a quick trip through Asheville, and were sorry we were not able to stay longer. We were warmly met by Peter when we arrived on a cold and rainy afternoon. After Peter showed us around the Inn, we enjoyed delicious hor’s douvres and drinks in the parlor. Peter and Lori are very accomodating... more

My husband and I spent the weekend at the Black Walnut Inn Thanksgiving weekend. We are new to B&Bs so we weren't sure what to expect. The owners gave us the inside scoop and we booked! First, the Inn is just amazingly beautiful and clean...inside and out! The breakfast every morning was delicious and the tea time (read: cocktail hour)... more

Not only was the Inn a fabulous place but the InnKeepers made us feel like family. The afternoon tea was a great time to meet and share stories with the other guests. Heck, even the InnKeepers joined in the dialogue and shared some great stories. Overall, we had a very relaxing and yet entertaining experience. In closing, the breakfast each... more

My husband, dog and I spent a wonderful weekend at the Black Walnut in early November 2009. We stayed in the Magnolia Room in the Carriage House because we brought our dog. The room was perfect -- beautifully decorated, super comfortable bed with wonderful bedding, and brand new bathroom. When we arrived, there were dog treats from the local dog... more

We thought that the Black Walnut Inn was very nice - breakfast was great, the house is beautiful, beds comfortable. While we would recommend it, we thought that there were some touches that could have been better (it would have been nice to have a robe and slippers and a few other things). Lori was very sweet and Peter was... more
