It IS a mile outside the Park entrance, but there was a sign on the office that you had to go into the Cedar Pass Lodge to check in. $15 to enter the park, but we had planned on going in anyway. The one positive was location-beautiful views and walkable to Badlands N.P. My room had many flies coming from the unscreened air conditioner. There were also at least 20 dead flies and spiders proving the room had not been cleaned in some time. The maid service did not include trash pickup or vacuuming. Really gross place! more

As others have said, this is pretty basic lodging, but the location can't be beat. Rooms are clean, staff is pleasant, views are great, and the price is very reasonable. more
