My husband and I spent 2 nights at this B&B and found the stay pleasant but it could have been a lot better with minimal effort by the innkeepers. The good: The view is beautiful and there is a large deck overlooking the mountains, river, and town below. The location is nice (probably the nicest of all the B&Bs in... more

We had a wonderful stay at the Ledge House for 2 nights and went to the River View Cottage for a night when our niece from Washington DC stayed with us. The hosts were gracious, breakfast was delicious and the view wonderful. We're glad we were able to experience both types of lodging because the River View Cottage gives you... more

My friend and I made a trip to the Presidential Inauguration in D.C. this year (Jan 2009) and stayed at this B&B. Location-wise, it was a fantastic choice, only 3 minutes from the train station. But overall I was really disappointed in the fundamental amenities, provisions for privacy/security and frankly, lack of cleanliness at The Ledge House. Let's start with... more

Spent Memorial Day weekend at the RIver View Cottage and it was utterly charming. A cute, clean little house with plenty of room for a couple or even two couples. Had a fully equipped kitchen and a great porch for hanging out and enjoying the beautiful scenery. It was perfect, comfy bed, clean bathroom and even a grill for our... more

Wow! What a wonderful weekend we had at The Ledge House B&B. We stayed over Valentine's Day, and every moment about the experience was pleasant. The suite, which was not too overstuffed with knickknacks, made us feel very comfortable and welcome. The mattress was FANTASTIC!! Breakfast was prepared individually for each guest, with the coffee fresh and hot. The common... more

My husband treated us to a fall getaway, and it didn't disappoint. Perched high above the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers, The Ledge House is a laid back B&B, with many outdoor decks and patios from which to enjoy the views. Our room (#1) was large, with an extremely comfortable bed, and direct access to the patio around back. Morning coffee... more

This was only our third experience with a Bed and Breakfast. I would say this one fell short of the quality we have experienced at others. On the plus side, the views were beautiful overlooking the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers and the lower town railroad tracks that are wonderfully active in the late afternoon and evening. The... more

We had read several reviews of this B&B and others in Harper's Ferry, and the one that said this was a "diamond in the rough" was definitely most accurate. We had a rocky start for sure: We arrived smack in the middle of the time when the owners ask that you arrive, but no one was there (thank goodness the... more

If you are looking for a friendly, comfortable, informal little B&B with a superb view and convenient location in a very cute small town, you can't do better than the Ledge House. We plan to stay there next time we're in the area (from CT), and our mid-20s kids (from DC) do, too. Occasional trains rumble and hoot along the... more

Final impression was very positive, especially for the price. No, this is not a luxourious B&B, but it was clean, well kept, and did afford fantastic views. Also, there were many specials such as a large amount of space and use of the middle level of the house (kitchen, living area, and deck) - the couple running the B&B lives... more
