I needed to visit the Greeneville, TN area for a quick business trip. A local suggested the General Morgan Inn in downtown Greeneville and I was pleasantly surprised. Typical rate is around $120 and you get a pretty nice room for it. The hotel started serving customers in the late 1800's. The furnishments are time period appropriate, both in the... More

Real linens, down pillows, beautifully restored architecture. I have stayed here several times and always had a very nice stay. The staff is super nice. I worked in the Hospitality industry for years, so I know the difference. The General Morgan Inn is very clean, the rooms are quiet and very well furnished. For me, the perfect blend of antique... We stay here a couple of times a year, whenever we need a break from real life. The hotel is beautiful, with soft, comfy beds and high ceilings. Rooms prices vary with time of year from $100 to $150 or so a night. Room service was the best deal around - great food and not too expensive. The staff is... More

The bed was comfortable and the sheets were nice quality. However, it was difficult to sleep due to noise in the heating/cooling system. The hotel also only had down pillows which was a porblem for my husband. The restaraunt wasn't open for a bite to eat when we got in around 8PM. The immediate strip though quaint didn't have any... Thank you for your feedback about your recent experience at the General Morgan Inn. I am very happy to hear that our staff was friendly and accommodating and that you enjoyed the architecture of our building. However, I was quite concerned to read about your experience with our pillows. Because we understand that some guests have an allergic reaction to... More

We have just finished driving over 1500 miles through TN and KY, and this was our most favorite hotel. The hotel maintains the grand old flavor, the beds are fantastic, and the restaurant outstanding. The staff in all departments was the utmost of professionalism. If I had to plan a conference, this is where in would go. More

We spend a weekend here once a year for about 4 years. Each time is relaxing and enjoyable. Some things to consider: Why are you there? We go to get away from people and visit the class act Antique Mall across the street. Then, we will eat at Brumley's which has always been great. We make sure that there is... More

This hotel was a nice place to visit. The restaurant had great food. In fact, I would go to the restaurant again. The rooms were very clean, but old. Just not my thing. More

We have stayed at the General numerous times. Each visit including the most recent was relaxing. The staff is always helpful. Brumley's is a nice quiet place to eat. We always get rooms with king beds. Plenty of pillows and linens. Some rooms have refrig. some don't. More

We love this hotel. The room was spacious and well appointed. The hotel restaurant, Brumley's, is quite good! Greeneville is the home of our 17th president, Andrew Johnson and there are a lot of Johnson sites. This great, old hotel is quite a value. More
