I stayed at the hotel for four nights in January. I arrived late after a horrible flight (4 hours late). The hotel staff quickly checked me in, the room was perfect. The neighborhood is very convenient for downtown and buses, also, a real plus in San Francisco, is that the street the hotel is on is not up a very... More

I came to San Fransisco in the off season (December) Hotel Vertigo was a very nice, hip and clean spot to lay our head for the night. It was super cool, the location in relation to Union Square was awesome! There are some great little restaurants in the neighbourhood. I have recommended this hotel to friends. I will add that... This trip I was looking for budget prices and I'm always looking for a convenient location, and Vertigo was the winner. We had a "petite queen" which was really not that small. 4-6 feet on 3 sides of the bed plus a walk-in closet - I unloaded stuff we wouldn't need daily on the huge top shelf. Desk, fridge, and... I thought the hotel overall was enjoyable and would probably come back. The location is close enough to the square without being right next store to all the congestion and high traffic. Our room was on the third floor street side, which surprisingly didn't hear much noise from the city. A lot of people complain that the walls are super... More

I had booked six rooms for a wedding and had confirmed that we could have two beds in three of the rooms. When we arrived, we were unable to get two beds in any of the rooms, they were just not available. I had talked to someone at the hotel and had their name, but, they still couldn't honor my... More

Needed to go to San Fran for a few days for business and a little pleasure. Didn't want to spend a lot on a hotel but definitely refused to stay in a budget motel. So I researched all the hotels in the area and read all the reviews and chose this one. It was perfect for what I needed. The... More

I stayed in the Hotel Vertigo for 3 nights in what was a very busy weekend for the entire city of San Francisco. The first thing that stood out for me was that I got to the hotel long before the check-in time. I arrived at about 11 and their check-in is at about 3 (I think). I spoke with... More

a very basic hotel. location is good and a short walk to downtown and the cable cars. staff were mostly friendly, but at times seemed not to care or look like they wanted to be there. the breakfast box was simple, but ok- orange juice, an apple, a yoghurt and a pastry. a bit of variety would have been nice.... Not the best neighborhood, but close to downtown! The room was ok, but on new years eve our toilet didn't flush anymore. They could solve the problem so we had to use the toilets in the lobby. At least the toilet worked on the next day again. The staff was not friendly at all. We asked about good restaurants nearby... More

We enjoyed our 4 night stay and especially appreciated the value and the location. We found we could walk almost everywhere and enjoyed the many restaurants, shops and even theaters nearby. Wish they would let you see Vertigo in the rooms! They run it continuously at the desk, but don't pipe it into the rooms. More
