They should change the name since the palm tree shown by the pool was like 5 stories tall but very much dead, apparnetly for many years now. That sets the tone for this ill-maintained hotel that is a mostly dirty, smelly place. It smells like they have not updated the carpet since the 1970s when everyone smoked and the smell... more

Met hookers in the hallways. Rooms had no air conditioning, so we had to open windows (hah---best described as "holes in walls"). Windows were 4" glass slats with NO screens, and anyone passing by could reach through the glass, part the drapes, and peek in! The only thing going for this hotel is its location within easy walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf. From the unfriendly, disinterested reception staff to the stained and musty smelling room (complete with a pillow with a blood stain on it!) this was definitley a place to avoid. We stayed at the Heritage Marina Hotel in early October, during Fleet Week. This made the price go up significantly, but you would expect that - San Francisco was pretty much booked out. I should have read the reviews. I saw the pictures so thought it would be okay. When we got there they didn't have our room ready so we left our luggage in the office and walked to the Wharf. rooms do not lock bedding not changed.. i found a used contact lens and dirty tissues in the bed.. after three attempts at finding a room in the hotel that actually locked the manager sent us to a room where there where already people staying, the man in the room ran at us and tried to attack us.. not a... more
