My boyfriend and I stayed at the San Remo for two nights last August and we were so happy with our choice. As other reviewers have said, it's clean, comfortable and incredibly affordable. Note that the cheapest rooms do not have their own washrooms, but we never found this to be a problem; all the shared spaces were *very* clean.... More

We're in the penthouse for gull sakes. Did staff clean the wine glasses? NO! How stupid is that! More

This is the perfect place for an individual or perhaps a young couple on a budget. Great location, price is very good for the area. Hotel has lots of ambiance and history. The staff are very helpful and polite. The rooms are small and bathrooms are down the hall, but it's all so very tidy and clean, very well maintained,... More

A no frills small hotel with a rooftop sanctuary just 4 blocks from Fisherman's Wharf can be found at the San Remo Hotel. The rooftop "suite" is small, but the ambiance is unforgettable. When traveling to San Francisco, our plans surround availabilty of the suite. The queen bed needs to be upgraded and the small-tiny bathroom provides a few challenges.... More

San Remo Hotel, is a gorgeous guest house to stay in for a couple of days. It doesn't have an elevator which can make lugging heavy suitcase up the stairs a pain, but the price and location is a trade off. We stayed in a room with a double bed and it was slightly cramped, but it was clean and... More

We just returned from a family visit with our daughter in California. What a fantastic gem of a hotel. At first I thought it would be uncomfortable sharing restrooms and shower facilities, but all went off without a hitch. There are plenty of toilets available within a short distance to your room and the 2nd floor showers offered a small... More

Many areas of interest are within walking distance. In addition to its great location, this hotel offers a warm and friendly staff who are very helpful. The rooms are small but the beds are comfortable. The shared baths seem perfectly appropriate for a Victorian hotel and were no problem at all. Outside each bath area is a heated towel rack,... More

For our stay in SF we book at the San Remo hotel, following also Tripadvisor suggestions and I can say it was all perfect: a very cozy place, with is proper personality, clean and suggestive. Perfectly located between the touristic Fisherman Wharf and the cool North Beach, from which it's at foot distance, it's also very close to the cable... More

We stayed at the San Remo based on a SF friends suggestion. What a great place. We stayed in the Penthouse, which is priced competitively with lesser hotels in the Union Square area and is the only room with private bath facilities. Located on the roof of the San Remo, it has a fantastic view of Coit Tower and the... More
