We left our main feedback with the hotel who encouraged our opinion. The bed was comfy, the shower was poor and apart from a tv, no other amenities were provided. The hotel is aching for pride and care in many aspects. We felt unsafe outside the hotel, but Renoir can't do anything about that. What can be improved is inside... More

Just got home and read the reviews can't believe some people are talking about the same hotel. I have stayed there many times. It's nice to have a staff that knows my name. Everyone is very helpful. It's like coming home. Check out the SF Farmers Market just around the corner, also the excellent view of City Hall at night.... More

I was extremely pleased with this hotel. First, for its excellent hospitality, everyone is really polite and focused on serving their guests. Second, it is really clean and the rooms have cool views of the city. The hotel is not located in a rich part of town, however it is right in front of the BART Station, which can take... More

I had not been in San Fran in almost 35 years. My motivation to stay at the Renoir was the closeness to BART and the rates. The rooms are clean the staff nice. I realized the neighborhood and homeless sucked also for food I ate at Carls jr the Asian cafes close by were filthy and scary and staff were... More

Dear utahteddybear, We would like to thank you for taking the time to review our Hotel and our neighborhood. We are thrilled that you were pleased with the Renoir Hotel and our staff. Since we are centrally located, there are quite a few restaurant options surrounding us. We would like to mention a traditional Italian restaurant named Little Joe’s ,... More

This hotel is a joke, don't even think about staying there. The hotel is surrounded by a large homeless population along with strip clubs and drug dealers. I also heard shooting during the night when I stayed. Besides the location, the quality of rooms are terrible. There were roaches roaming around when I was taking my shower, and the room... More

Dear Nicholas P, We regret to hear that you were displeased with the Renoir Hotel. We do not market our property as high end, but more on the moderate end of the choices available. While every property has its share of pests, we do not have roaches roarming around the room and we do not use Pine Sol, which is... More

We stayed at the Renoir hotel in September next time we will be finding another hotel. It was clean and the hotel staff were quite friendly, but the surrounding streets were a little bit scary, we looked outside of our window and saw people using drugs and our tour driver told us not to leave the hotel at night as... Due to Oracle Open Wolrd convention it was one of the few hotels with remaining capacity. It was a terrible experience, both outside and inside the hotel. Here the details: Location: The hotel is itself a triangle block as you can see on its home page. Hence, All rooms, without exception, are directly exposed to 2 streets, one being Market... More

Dear Discus69, We regret to hear that you had a dissatisfactory experience. We pride ourselves on having a friendly staff and clean rooms. We are located in the downtown of San Francisco, and unfortunately the homeless situation is a city wide spread condition. As for the bathrooms, perhaps they do not compare with the newer or chain properties, but are... More

The Renoir Hotel provides what I term the "M.U.E" or Maximum Urban Experience". It's a small, almost European-style hotel on the edge of the Tenderloin District and 100 years old. The upsides of staying here are: 1) cost - it is inexpensive 2) staff - extremely helpful and 3) location & convenience (a BART station to the airport is about... More
