This place was fine to stay at, very simple. The room I stayed in was quiet. There is a creepy doll on the second floor of the building, but I guess it adds style to the place. It was kept pretty clean too. I had read about bed bugs, so I was a little nervous, but the bed had bed... More

All the rooms are themes. Some are quite basic with no en suite but I keep going back. You need to be in the mood for a commuunal experience but I especially like the shared breakfasts and chats More

This place is a really old, huge Victorian in the heart of Haight. We chose this because it was the closest thing to UCSF that I could afford. The pictures make it look a little brighter than it actually is. My son and I stayed in the Poster room. It is on the second floor facing Haight St. so it... More

The location is key here. You could spend at least $100 *more* and stay downtown, but why? Staying here puts you right in the middle of the Haight with the rest of the city easily accessible via the MUNI N line. Walking distance of Golden Gate Park. What you should know though, is that this place is basic and quirky.... More

My wife and I recently spent a night here and were definitely not blown away. The room was fine (we stayed in the redwood room) but was somewhat dated for the price. Breakfast was included and was quite good. The B&B is advertised as a living peace museum but it really seemed more like a Sami Sunchild museum. I've not... More

I found the Red Victorian by the suggestion of some friends and I was so curious to know what type of place is. The red Victorian is great, and if you are in San Francisco, don't miss the chance to stay at this bed&breakfast. It's not simply a hotel...it's a place that tells about a slice of the San Francisco... More

This is a beautiful, historic place full of charm and character just like its owner Sami Sunchild who is a wonderful person. She is the founder, artist-in-residence and host at the Red Vic, a living peace museum and B&B in the heart of historic Haight Ashbury district. The Red Vic is a gathering place for travelers and I love the... More

I've been to SF a few times now and normally get caught up opting for one of the main hotel chains... This time I wanted to see another side of SF, and what better than taking a trip back to the Hippie, Peace, Love side of life. I found the Red Vic on the net and checked it out on... More

We really enjoyed staying here and we were bummed that we couldn't stay longer. We stayed in the Japanese Tea Garden room which was on the second floor across the hall from the Starlight bathroom. We loved the little garden area just outside our window and the fact that it lit up was awesome, too (it made for a pretty... More
