Stayed at the Inn at the Opera from Feb 3 to Feb 10 and had the most plesant surprise. The accomodiations while small were lovely and the staff at the hotel were nothing less than welcoming and hospital and very service orientated. We were even more surprised to find the Inn included a complementary contintenial breakfeast with the room, apples... More

In a crazy city this was a piece of heaven. It was stepping back in time to a Victorian era filled with gracious service and elegance with the modern convenience of wifi. I loved my room - I almost expected to see a butler step in! Von at the front desk anticipated my needs even before I thought to ask... More

Old style charm with all the conveniences. We arrived early. Our room was cleaned & made available to us with only a 20 minute wait. We slept great with no distracting noise from other guests or outside noise. The hotel is close to the wharf, museums, the opera, & much more. We walked most places or hopped on the bus,... More

Truly one of the quietest hotels in San Franciscothat we have lodged in. For many years we have visited SF and this visit --no car horns, no sirens and a rare hallway voice. Well appointed with an absolutely delightful staff. We were content with the size of the room, the lobby, the number of rooms. Was quite entertaining to see... More

It's a really nice old style hotel full of character, great helpful staff and ideally located. The only problems I had though were fairly big ones. One, the room is very small, two, the Walls are so thin you can hear people talking in the other rooms and constant doors slamming (think they need something on the doors to stop... More

Thank you for staying with us recently and for your comments about your stay. I do apologize about the issues you experienced, and wanted to let you know that we are replacing all of our beds and frames within the next two months, so this should help with the problem with the squeaking and also make it much more comfortable!... We stayed here for a couple nights while in San Francisco. It was so convenient to so much, and far less expensive than places close to the wharf. Next door to museums, the opera, performing arts center, city hall, and more. Walk a few blocks and catch the cable car to the wharf and chinatown and such -- only $2.... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in late January. Overall the hotel itself was OK - the staff were excellent though. Pros first - as above, the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them; rooms were neat and clean and bed was comfortable; choice of cable tv channels also good. Breakfast was decent for a continental,... More

I have to warn that the small rooms are small...but for the price in San Francisco this is a great location and very clean. I feel like ladies in big dresses will come around the corner at any time...great atmosphere and the staff is over the top with excellent service. We stay here every year for the opening of the... in a good location, the Hayes Valley is a fun spot for eating and partying. The beds are very comfortable and quiet location for great sleep. Close to bus lines and the front desk is very helpful for locating whatever you want to see in San Francisco. The European Breakfast buffet is in a beautiful room decorated just like one... More

Right in the heart of downtown. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants. Close to the BART lines. Smallish rooms, but well kept. Mini kitchen. Would definitely stay there next time in San Francisco. More
